EA Set to Revive Fight Night Boxing Series Following UFC 6 Release

EA Sports appears to be gearing up for a comeback of its Fight Night boxing series, following the anticipated launch of UFC 6 in 2025.

This boxing franchise has been inactive since the release of Fight Night Champion in 2011, but reports indicate that the concept is once again under consideration.

According to recent insights shared by Mike Shaw, the revival of Fight Night has been in progress for several years, with initial plans for its debut set between UFC game releases.

Shaw has pointed out that development on the game has seen its share of interruptions but is currently back in motion. While the exact release date remains unclear, sources indicate that the game is being designed for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

He also mentioned, “EA has been closely observing Steel City Interactive’s Undisputed, which is the new boxing title releasing in 2024. Their financial capacity is not an issue for obtaining licenses, as EA boasts billions. Their main concern lies with gauging interest and potential sales.”

Shaw further elaborated that EA has recognized the demand for boxing games and sees ample market potential for a Fight Night revival.

“It’s definitely back on the agenda,” he noted. “After numerous starts and stops, EA is now focusing on the necessary steps to bring this to fruition. A timeline of three to four years seems reasonable. If I had to make a prediction, I’d suggest we could see Fight Night hit the shelves by 2027.”

The insider further highlighted that while EA continues to develop UFC games, it is expected that Fight Night would follow the release of UFC 6.

As always, it’s wise to approach this information with a degree of skepticism until official confirmation is made, particularly given the complex history surrounding the resurgence of the Fight Night franchise.
