Bungie is set to implement significant alterations to dungeons and raids, making it simpler than ever for players to acquire the coveted loot in Destiny 2 once Revenant Act 1 launches.
The Revenant episode kicks off on October 8, following the weekly reset, marking the conclusion of the Echoes segment. This new season promises to introduce a plethora of thrilling content, including the Vesper’s Host dungeon, an array of new weapons, and an extensive list of confirmed buffs and nerfs that may once again elevate Stasis Exotics to the forefront of gameplay.
Alongside these developments, Bungie is refining the Dungeon and Raid rotations in Revenant by adding an additional featured activity each week, as detailed in a recent TWID update from the developers.
During the initial week of this adjustment, from October 8 to 15, players will be able to farm the following four dungeons and raids freely:
- Dungeons: Shattered Throne and Duality
- Raids: Last Wish and Vow of the Disciple
Duality will be one of the two highlighted dungeons at the onset of Revenant Act 1.
This enhancement is a welcome quality of life improvement, granting Guardians greater autonomy over their chosen activities and timing.
Previously, if a featured dungeon or raid was missed, farming for its loot became nearly impossible until it reappeared two months later. Although you will still need to wait for specific content to be highlighted, the duration has now been cut in half, significantly lessening the consequences of missing a week.
This update signifies a shift away from content that induces a fear of missing out (FOMO), a long-standing concern within the gaming community.
A comparable strategy is also being integrated into Revenant’s seasonal content, with the complete storyline for each act becoming accessible from the start, a departure from the gradual release seen in previous seasons.
While this change is primarily beneficial, it could accidentally complicate the process of finding groups for less popular activities. For instance, if both Ghosts of the Deep and Warlord’s Ruin are available concurrently, many players may gravitate towards the latter, leading to fewer available Looking For Group (LFG) options for GOTD, which often faces criticism for its powerful bosses.
The impact of this situation remains to be determined. Regardless, these adjustments will significantly ease the process of farming top-tier PvE and PvP weapons, many of which are only obtainable through dungeons and raids, so make sure to participate.
