u003cp>Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions contains numerous Easter eggs for fans of the series to discover, including the well-known low-resolution Hagrid model that has become a popular meme.
Despite receiving criticism for its exclusion of Quidditch, the game Hogwarts Legacy has now been followed by a new game specifically focused on the beloved sport. Titled Quidditch Champions, this game will give players the opportunity to fly as their favorite characters including Harry, Ron, and Draco, in both single and multiplayer modes.
Before the game’s release, the Wizarding World website has provided details about the various Easter eggs in the game, including a paper mask that allows players to imitate the comically low-quality Hagrid model from the PlayStation 1 era.
Who among us hasn’t dreamed of becoming PS1 Haggord?
The post states that the iconic Hagrid image in meme form has been circulating on the internet in recent years. Now, it has made a comeback. As an ultimate Easter egg, players will have the opportunity to use a paper mask in the game that resembles Hagrid’s low-resolution face. Just the thought of it is bringing back nostalgic memories.
The low-poly character model was originally featured in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (or Philosopher’s Stone outside of the U.S.) movie tie-in game, which was released for the PlayStation 1 in 2001.
The game altered the appearance of the beloved Hogwarts groundskeeper, giving him a strange and comically disturbing look that some compared to a blobfish. As a result, many online users have humorously dubbed this version of the character as “Haggord.”
In addition to Hagrid, Harry Potter fans can also expect to find other Easter eggs in the upcoming game PS1 Quidditch Champions. The post also discloses that the game will feature Harry’s unorthodox first Golden Snitch catch and the iconic scene where he utters “Up”for the first time to levitate a broom.
The digital release of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is scheduled for September 3, 2024 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The physical release will follow on November 8, 2024, and a Nintendo Switch version is expected to be released during the holiday season of 2024.
