Echo finale on Disney+: Is there a post-credits scene?

The new Marvel mini-series has just been released on Disney+: does its finale include the traditional post-credits scene, or has the MCU broken its own codes?

New year, new creation: Marvel launched into 2024 with a dark and bloody mini-series on Disney+, Echo. A sort of sequel to the events of the 2021 Hawkeye series, this spin-off follows Maya Lopez, a hearing-impaired ex-mafia leader of Native American origin, as she flees her uncle.

Because the gentleman is not an altar boy: he is the formidable Wilson Fisk, alias Kingpin, alias the Caïd to French speakers. And if family stories are always complicated, not everyone can boast of having one of the most emblematic villains of the MCU as an adoptive father.

The five-episode series is now available in full on Disney+, yet one question remains on social media: is there a post-credits scene at the end of the final episode?

Warning, spoilers ahead!

Is there a post-credits scene at the end of Echo?

No, the finale of Echo does not contain any post-credits scenes.

Breaking with tradition, the fifth and final episode of Echo does not have a post-credits scene or even a message indicating that the character would return in the future.

The end of the series shows Maya confronting Fisk, and sparing him despite the death and destruction he has inflicted on her family since the heroine’s childhood.

Although audiences learn that Maya possesses some sort of mystical powers through her connection to her Choctaw ancestors, the series leaves no clues about a possible return in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.

Echo is not the first MCU series not to have a post-credits scene, since season 2 of Loki did not have one either. However, the decision not to include them in the new mini-series is surprising, Maya being a relatively new character in the world of live-action superheroes: one might have expected that the studio already teasing a return.

Especially since the anti-heroine maintains a strong relationship with the Kingpin, who is due to appear in the next Daredevil series: Born Again. There is therefore still a chance for spectators to see her again on screen.
