Eiichiro Oda Reveals Which Admiral in One Piece is a Treacherous Traitor

Eiichiro Oda has unveiled an intriguing detail about the upcoming Elbaf Arc in the One Piece manga—one of the Admirals is actually a traitor to the World Government.

The Admirals serve as formidable figures within the Marines, standing among the mightiest characters in the One Piece universe. Pirates often hesitate to challenge them. However, there exists one Admiral who supports the Straw Hat Pirates.

Besides the captivating narrative, the One Piece manga volumes are also loved for their SBS (Shitsumon o Bosh Suru), which means “I’m Taking Questions.”

This segment features Oda’s insightful replies to letters from fans regarding various subjects. While many questions focus on the story or address specific confusions, Oda is open to all kinds of inquiries.

The release of One Piece Volume 110 is slated for November 1, 2024, which will include a new collection of Q&A with Eiichiro Oda. Answers to these questions are translated and shared by a popular One Piece fan account on Twitter/X.

One fan’s question stated, “In Chapter 1103, Luffy appears famished and unable to move, yet by Chapter 1106, he is fully satisfied. Who provided food for Luffy?”

Oda responded in a mysterious manner, saying, “In Chapter 1103, Luffy eagerly started eating. When he exclaimed ‘Food,’ who came to his aid? Was it Sanji or Franky, who were both close by? Kizaru and Sentoumaru were also in the vicinity…

“Whoever fed him remains unidentified. The action occurred at such speed that it eluded the naked eye. Hmm… even I am uncertain of who the benefactor was… The speed of light…”

Oda’s ambiguous answer suggests a clear implication. Given that both Sanji and Kizaru possess incredible speed, they are nearly imperceptible to the average person. However, only one character in One Piece is linked to light, which is Admiral Kizaru, thanks to his Pika Pika no Mi devil fruit.

The speculation surrounding Kizaru’s assistance to Luffy has circulated among fans ever since the chapters were published. Kizaru faced the dilemma of having to eliminate Vegapunk out of obligation while also battling Sentoumaru, whom he had seen grow up. His internal struggles were affecting his mission.

Notably, in the scene where Luffy eats, a half bowl with chopsticks is depicted, suggesting another person was dining alongside him. This bowl has a design that matches Kizaru’s from an earlier chapter. If Kizaru is indeed aiding Luffy, a Yonko and a target of the Gorosei, this would signify a grave betrayal against the World Government.

Following his emotional conversation with Akainu in Chapter 1124, Kizaru’s current location is unknown. Nonetheless, Oda clearly has significant developments planned for the Admirals, as they remain key figures in the storyline beyond the Summit War.

The One Piece manga has now concluded its Egghead Incident Arc, so be sure to look ahead at what’s in store for the Elbaf Arc.
