Elden Ring: How to Obtain the Winged Scythe

The Winged Scythe is a massive reaper weapon known for its powerful slash attacks. As a faith-based weapon, it can be scaled to suit any faith build. Additionally, its passive Bleed status effect makes it a valuable choice for various boss battles.

If the Scythe is a weapon you want to include in your arsenal, be prepared for a lengthy and adventurous journey through the cursed Lands Between.

1. Winged Scythe Location in Elden Ring

The Winged Scythe can be found inside a chest in the central chamber of the Tombsward Ruins, which is situated on the southern isle of the Limgrave region near the Church of Pilgrimage site of grace in the west.

Upon arriving at the ruins, make your way towards the center where you will find stone stairs leading to a dark tunnel. As you enter the tunnel, you may encounter some enemies, but simply run past them and proceed into the room ahead.

Once you enter, simply open the chest and claim the Winged Scyther as your own!

If you begin your journey at the “The First Step”location of grace, you must then proceed north to reach the Church of Elleh grace site, and continue on the main pathway heading north from there.

In the near future, you will arrive at an intersection. Choose the road to the right and continue walking on it. After crossing a bridge, there will be another intersection. Once again, take the right path and stay on it until you reach a large bridge.

Once you have crossed this bridge, you will reach the Bridge of Sacrifice, a site of grace. From there, you can continue on your journey to the main path. Take a right at the first intersection and head north to reach the Church of Pilgrimage, another site of grace.

Finding Tombsward Ruins in Elden Ring

The Tombsward Ruins can be found to the southwest of the Church of Pilgrimage, where visitors seek grace. Although there are no designated pathways leading to the ruins, continue riding in a southwest direction and you will eventually come upon them.

Located at the heart of these ruins is the Winged Scythe. Although the enemies in this area are not particularly strong, it is unnecessary for you to confront them. Simply bypass them until you reach your destination, where you can then put your new weapon to the test against them.

4. Is it worth investing in the Winged Scythe?

The Winged Scythe is an excellent weapon to use in the early stages of Elden Ring due to its impressive stats, including 87 physical attack, 104 holy attack, and 100 critical damage. Additionally, it possesses a passive bleed effect that proves highly advantageous in boss battles.

Nonetheless, its bulky nature may result in a decrease in attack speed, making it less ideal for players who enjoy rapid combat.

In general, the Winged Scythe is an excellent choice for novice fighters, and with proper use, it can even become your main weapon.
