The highly praised RPG offers players various tools, such as Summons, to combat its formidable foes. Nevertheless, a significant portion of the Elden Ring community firmly believes that utilizing these tools goes against the intended way to experience the game.

The game’s creator has surprisingly argued that the developers intended for players to use these tools, despite their original purpose.

When asked by The Guardian about his preparation for Elden Ring’s latest expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, Miyazaki discussed why he incorporates these elements into his games.

Let me start by acknowledging that I am not very skilled at video games. Therefore, my strategy or method of playing was to utilize every resource available to me, including all the assistance and aid provided by the game, as well as my own knowledge as the creator of the game.

The player base took notice of this particular comment due to a widespread belief that utilizing features such as Summons can diminish the overall gameplay experience. With Miyazaki going against this trend, it brought a sense of relief to fans who choose to employ these features.

According to a member of the Elden Ring subreddit, the game’s director and leader of FromSoftware, Miyazaki, urged players to stop debating the correct way to play and acknowledged that he also needs assistance. This statement has solidified his status as a legend.

In fact, someone else went so far as to criticize those who promote disregarding these tools, stating, “There you have it, everyone. To all the Souls fanatics who claimed that using items like Spirit Ashes went against Miyazaki’s vision, this serves as proof.”

Despite his playstyle, Miyazaki’s admission of being bad at the game also caught the attention of many Elden Ring players. They found it ironic that the creator of the game could struggle with his own creation.
