Elden Ring players think they’ve found the DLC location on the map

Some Elden Ring fans believe they have found the location of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on the game’s map.

The first trailer for Elden Ring ‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released this week, giving some reason to speculate on the finer details.

Players are trying to figure out how characters fit into the larger lore and how DLC might give more insight into what happened in the Underdark.

They’ve even worked to find where the physical location of the DLC will be, and the Elden Ring community thinks they’ve figured it out.

Elden Ring fans predict DLC location

The theory was shared on the Elden Ring subreddit by player Corona_Australis. He showed a picture of the game’s map, with the location of each Divine Tower highlighted. Then he drew lines showing that the midpoint between the towers is in the middle of an inaccessible location.

Sharing the photo, he also asked, “Are the divine towers holding the veil?”»

In the base game, this area cannot be reached. Indeed, it is made up of a large sea and a part hidden by a mysterious cloud.

This has always been an intriguing area for Elden Ring players. Now, it looks like she could be the answer to one of the DLC’s biggest questions.

“The land around the central sea is all steep cliffs, with no beaches. It’s like a huge piece of earth was there and was teleported out of existence.”

The game’s lore could confirm this theory

The community references game lore to explain why this theory could work. Shadow of the World Tree is supposed to take place in an area called the Shadowlands. Additionally, many believe this refers to Marika’s character who made him disappear.

One user even pointed out that another player had previously bypassed the game to enter the cloud and found a place that seemed perfect to add a location.

Others are a little more skeptical, with one fan following Hidetaka Miyazaki’s comments. According to him, the DLC map would be larger than the Necrolimbe area.

However, some have sought an explanation. “Maybe not above ground, but there could also be an underground section that adds to the total size of the DLC area.”

While the exact location of the Elden Ring expansion is far from proven, the community will continue to speculate until its release on June 21.
