Elden Ring Publisher Offers Tips for Players Having Trouble with Shadow of the Erdtree

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring has proven to be extremely challenging, with even the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco, offering advice to struggling players.

Despite being the publisher of both Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Bandai Namco has not been shy about addressing players who struggle in the DLC. In fact, the developers took to X/Twitter to offer a helpful suggestion.

The special Scadutree Blessings are only available in Shadow of the Erdtree and grant players increased attack power and defense against enemies. As players level up, the blessings require more fragments, providing a continuous boost. This feature has proven to be advantageous for players, as the DLC adjusts to their level upon entry.

The reactions to the initial comment have been varied.

One person stated that developers have reached the point of kindly suggesting players to stop complaining and instead take the time to fully explore the world they have created, rather than rushing through the DLC like it’s a boss battle.

“Another person chimed in, stating that they believe the individuals who are complaining may not have taken the time to gather Scadutree Blessings in order to defeat the bosses. However, they also acknowledged that some of the bosses’ movesets can be challenging. They do not anticipate any significant adjustments being made to balance the difficulty.”

Lawrence Sonntag, a former Rooster Teeth employee and current streamer, shared his thoughts on the situation, stating that runes serve as the universal currency and adjust according to the enemy’s level of difficulty. However, he also pointed out that Scadutree Blessings, which are easily overlooked and have no way of indicating if you are falling behind in levels, can be arbitrary and may result in being defeated by a boss at the end of a dungeon.

Elden Ring’s DLC has received a “mixed”rating on Steam, despite the game being available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Discover the reason behind this as Shadow of the Erdtree is now accessible on these platforms.
