Elden Ring’s new Ash of War turns Tarnished into martial arts experts

An Elden Ring player has traded in their lethal swords and powerful spells for some traditional Kung Fu combat in order to conquer the formidable foes in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Despite the countless weapons added by Shadow of the Erdtree to the already massive armory in Elden Ring, one player has shown that there is still one weapon that all Tarnished warriors can rely on in any situation – their own hands.

This gotta be the meanest kick I’ve ever hit byu/themadman502 inEldenring

The latest addition to the weapon categories in Hand-to-hand Arts is Shadow of the Erdtree, which allows players to execute punches and kicks in a stylish manner. In the video, it is evident that players can also launch enemies into walls while airborne, as demonstrated by a Vulgar Militaman who learned this lesson the hard way.

Players were immediately impressed by the combat skills of Dryleaf Dane, a Kung Fu master who ditches all weapons in favor of a long flurry of melee attacks. These impressive skills can be acquired by defeating the NPC in the DryLeaf Arts.

Although I haven’t played the DLC yet, one person compared Shadow of the Erdtree to FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, citing the use of karate and the “High Monk”combat skill by Wolf, the main character.

Despite the impressive nature of Hand-to-Hand martial arts, some individuals have expressed disappointment with the lack of extravagance in other weapons. One individual stated, “After experiencing the intensity of Dryleaf and Beast claws, I find it difficult to return to using ordinary fist or claw weapons.”

Regrettably, although the new weapon excels in coolness, it appears to lack substance, as voiced by another player: “It’s not very effective against bosses due to its limited range and poise damage, but I still keep it equipped solely for the enjoyment of using it against regular enemies.”

The DLC for Shadow of the Erdtree can now be found on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, PC players should carefully consider before buying it due to ongoing performance problems on the platform.
