Elyse Myers, a popular figure on the internet, has recently reactivated her Instagram account. This comes after she had deleted all of her posts in the Spring of 2024 in order to take an extended hiatus from social media.
Since her initial viral success in 2021 with a story about a disastrous first date at Taco Bell, Myers has continued to create diverse content.
Despite having over 7M followers on TikTok, Elyse was known not only for her comedic videos but also for her advocacy for mental health. However, in Spring 2024, she made the decision to wipe her channel clean.
Despite the exact reason for her hiatus being unknown, fans speculate that it is due to the harassment she received in the comments of her videos. Additionally, she had recently shared that her newborn son was experiencing serious health problems.
“Currently on a break from this app. I will return when the time is right,”states her TikTok bio.
Despite taking a hiatus, the comedian has continued to stick to her YouTube upload schedule and began utilizing Threads in July 2024, however her Instagram and TikTok accounts have remained inactive.
On August 15, 2024, everything changed when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram. In the caption, she wrote, “hi hello I love you.”
The possible return of the content creator has generated excitement among fans, who flooded the comments with their support.
“One user compared this situation to stumbling upon a deer during a hike and warned that if anyone ruined it, they would be in big trouble.”
Another person expressed, “I genuinely hope that wherever Elyse may be in the world at this moment, she is doing well.”
The third person replied, “I hope your break helped you heal. Many of us would love to see more of your content if you choose to share, but please know that we support you in whatever decisions you make for your health.”
It is uncertain if this signals Elyse’s comeback to Instagram, as the content creator has not clarified her intentions. At present, her TikTok channel still has no content.
