Emily in Paris Season 4: Unveiling the Shocking Cameo You Didn’t Expect

Keep a close eye on Episode 7 of Emily in Paris Season 4, and you’ll notice a surprising cameo, with creator Darren Star admitting he “called the bluff” of the guest appearance.

Fans of the Netflix series Emily in Paris may find their dreams coming true in the latest episodes of Season 4.

The second half of the season premiered on September 12, featuring Emily’s adventures in Rome as she navigates a new romance and a fresh job opportunity.

Before she switches from crepes to pizza, our main character meets Genevieve, another American working at Agence Grateau. During a welcome lunch, they unexpectedly spot Brigitte Macron, the current First Lady of France, in the restaurant.

This unexpected cameo adds a unique real-world crossover to Emily in Paris Season 4. Speculation about Macron’s participation began back in April of this year.

“When I first met Madame Macron, she mentioned she was a fan of the show. We had a lovely tea together, and it was truly an amazing experience,” Star explained.

“At the end of our meeting, she expressed interest in being on the show. So, I decided to take her up on it, and we worked it out for her to appear as herself.”

In the Episode 7 scene, Emily attempts to snap a selfie with Macron for her popular Instagram, but security intervenes.

If this scenario seems familiar, it’s because Season 4 isn’t the first time the French First Lady has made an appearance in Emily in Paris.

“Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Sylvie, reminded me that she was featured in the show at the start, although it wasn’t actually her; it was a double. Still, I think that idea amused her,” Star noted.

Additionally, in Season 1 Episode 2, the French First Lady shares one of Emily’s campaign posts on social media, significantly altering her career trajectory.

Macron’s double is seen from behind at the Élysée Palace, which amusingly is where Star first met her in real life.
