We know what you’re thinking: is there going to be an Emily in Paris Season 5? While Netflix hasn’t confirmed the new season yet, creator Darren Star has indicated that there are “surprise storylines” ready to be unfolded.
Emily in Paris Season 4 has been structured into two distinctive halves, with both five-episode releases feeling quite separate. Part 1 of Season 4 centered around the love triangle between Emily, Gabriel, and Camille, while Part 2 took a different direction, setting its sights on Rome.
If you’ve already binge-watched the series, you’re aware that Emily appears to have settled in Italy for good, leading a new office for Agence Grateau in the vibrant capital. She’s also experiencing a new romance with Marcello, whom she met by chance while skiing with Gabriel and Camille.
This setup makes the prospect of Emily in Paris Season 5—assuming it retains its title—sound incredibly promising. The excitement doesn’t stop there; creator Darren Star has hinted that if new episodes are produced, some unexpected storylines from previous seasons may return.
“That will be a surprise for new episodes,” he stated.
Actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who portrays Sylvie, remarked, “Darren always keeps quiet about these things. He won’t say anything!”
As for the rest of the Emily in Paris cast, their thoughts on how Season 5 could unfold vary widely.
“I used to pitch, in my head, where Julian would go,” shared Samuel Arnold. “But every time I came back for a new season, the writers had created something far better. So now, I’ve learned my lesson to just trust Darren and his team.”
“I’m very impatient to see what they’re cooking for Season 5,” he added.
Lucas Bravo, who plays Emily’s original love interest Gabriel, had a different vision for the character. “I want Gabriel to open a vegetarian restaurant,” he suggested. “I know this is entertainment but given our global platform, it would be fantastic to promote that message.”
While Emily seems to have settled into life in Rome, viewers witnessed Gabriel earning his first Michelin star concurrently. When he learns about Emily’s new developments, he sets out to find her… but will he arrive too late?
