A security guard became overwhelmed with emotion and was moved to tears by a song during a concert, resulting in a viral response of supportive comments.
During his performance at the São João festival in Portugal, singer and composer Lipe Lucena captured a moment that has since become viral.
Throughout the clip, security guard Jean Silva was unable to contain his tears as he was overwhelmed by the emotions of the music.
Following the circulation of Jean’s tears on the internet, Lipe was able to locate his social media accounts, where Jean issued an apology for his crying.
“Apologies for the tears, but the agony is indescribable and disorienting, and my physical strength is lacking,”he wrote in the caption of a post on Instagram.
After posting his video, Lipe commented that they could “conquer this hardship”together.
The artist also proposed that they meet up soon, a suggestion that the security guard enthusiastically accepted.
Despite the unknown cause, viewers of the viral video showed their support to the security guard, who had clearly been struggling with his emotions.
“According to a viewer, if Jean struggled to handle a song, then who am I to pass judgment? We all face challenges in life, just like Jean.”
“Another person urged Jean to keep his head held high and not bow down to anyone. They encouraged him to express gratitude to God each day for his deliverances.”
“The third person encouraged the warrior to remain strong, reminding them that everything in life eventually passes.”
Although the security guard’s emotional reaction during a concert gained widespread attention, there have been several other recent performances that have also become viral sensations.
JoJo Siwa, a pop artist, paused her concert at her Pride performance in NYC in July after being booed by a fan.
“Where the hell did that come from? Which one of you… With all due respect, screw you,”she declared to the audience while flipping them off with her backup dancers.
During a concert in June, Bebe Rexha, the singer of ‘Me, Myself & I’, paused her performance to request that her security remove a person in the audience who had thrown something at her while she was on stage.
Despite the intention of concerts being to unite music enthusiasts, it is evident that at times, the audience prevails.
