On May 25 according to Korean time, Margot Leveque, a graphic designer, shared numerous Instagram stories featuring tracklist and teaser images of the boy group ENHYPEN.
Margot stated that ENHYPEN’s tracklist and teaser images both make use of her font “Romie”without her permission and have even caused damage to the font.
The designer specifically included comments such as “Romie is completely cool”and “Romie is used beautifully. However, please send the owed money now”while mentioning ENHYPEN’s official Instagram account. These comments suggest that the designer believes that ENHYPEN’s agency Belift Lab and HYBE have plagiarized her efforts.
Upon discovering the new accusation, numerous netizens have voiced their disappointment with HYBE & Belift Lab, with a few even referencing a previous plagiarism controversy involving ENHYPEN.
Here are a few remarks from internet users:
- This entertainment company has no awareness of copyright…
- Again? They have been stealing things left and right for while
- Not only is unauthorized theft a problem, but it is even more concerning that the font was taken and altered. The designer also highlighted this issue, stating that her font had been “destroyed.”
- Not this company again…
- I can’t comprehend why controversies like this continue to arise in the same company… Have they not learned their lesson?
