Belift Lab Initiates Legal Action Against Privacy Violations Involving ENHYPEN
On December 18, Belift Lab made a public announcement regarding their legal efforts aimed at combating the ongoing privacy issues affecting their artist, ENHYPEN. The agency highlighted the seriousness of these violations, which not only include stalking and illegal photography but also involve malicious efforts to fabricate and propagate false narratives about the group.
Belift Lab articulated the gravity of these actions, categorizing them as criminal offenses. They stated, “The false information maliciously spread has quickly circulated through online communities and social media, causing severe damage to the artist’s reputation.” To combat this situation, the agency has instituted real-time monitoring strategies and noted the significance of fan contributions in reporting incidents. Consequently, they have filed formal complaints and launched immediate legal actions against those responsible for these privacy infringements and misinformation campaigns.
In addition, the agency underscored their proactive stance by indicating, “We have gathered evidence of malicious posts and comments that support and reproduce such rumors, and have submitted complaints to investigative authorities. Additional malicious posts and comments will continue to be collected for further legal action.”
Belift Lab reaffirmed their commitment to fight against defamation, harassment, and the dissemination of false rumors targeting ENHYPEN. The agency has meticulously tracked harmful content across a plethora of domestic and international platforms, including Ilgan Best, theqoo, DC Inside, Nate Pann, Instiz, FM Korea, Naver, and Daum, which are now included in their legal actions.
The agency has resolutely declared that they will not entertain settlements or any leniency towards those responsible and urged fans to report any instances of abuse actively.
In a related context, Jungwon faced unfounded rumors of a dating relationship with aespa’s Winter. Both artists’ agencies swiftly refuted these claims, labeling them as baseless.
At the time, Winter and Jungwon’s respective agencies, SM and Belift Lab, clarified the situation, revealing that the individual responsible for spreading the initial photo had attempted to profit from it by contacting a media outlet. After facing rejection due to the outlet’s policy against financial incentives, the individual resorted to maliciously circulating the image. Legal action is being pursued against this person, with both agencies firmly rejecting the dating rumor as unfounded.
