Based on the immensely popular webtoon, Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is set to receive an exciting anime adaptation, as revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest 2024.
The Aniplex Online Fest 2024 provided a plethora of updates about highly anticipated anime, capturing the attention of fans everywhere. Since its inception in 2020, Aniplex has hosted this annual festival to deliver news and announcements for both popular and upcoming anime titles, along with live performances from renowned musical guests.
The announcement of Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is particularly thrilling for both anime and K-Pop enthusiasts. This anime adaptation will be based on a well-received webtoon published by HYBE. The characters within the series are inspired by the South Korean boy band Enhypen, with elements of the plot drawing from their captivating music videos.
The story begins with the ‘Drunk-Dazed‘ music video, which debuted on April 26, 2021. Set in the fictional town of Riverfield, the narrative focuses on two rival schools attended by popular boys who are vampires and werewolves. Mysteriously, they become drawn to Sooha, a new transfer student in Riverfield.
As catastrophic events unfold and secrets from their past emerge, the lives of these boys are thrown into disarray. While details regarding the animation studio, voice cast, and release date are still under wraps, Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the anime. This announcement was accompanied by a brief teaser video, which you can view below.
