Epic Games, the renowned studio responsible for the blockbuster game Fortnite, has emerged as the top “dream employer”according to a recent survey involving the opinions of 10,000 college students nationwide.
Conducted by Forbes in partnership with Statista, this comprehensive study asked participants to identify their ideal workplaces from a list of over 500 prominent companies across the United States.
Epic Games Surpasses Industry Titans for the “Dream Employer” Title
In addition to the insights from students, the research also incorporated feedback from more than 140,000 employees currently engaged with US-based firms. These employees assessed their workplaces based on a variety of factors, including salary, opportunities for professional development, workplace flexibility, creative freedom, and their likelihood of recommending their companies to peers.

Over the past several decades, the tech and gaming industries have seen remarkable growth, becoming highly desirable career paths. Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Sony have solidified their positions as market leaders and influential corporate giants.
Epic Games stands out not only for its creation of Fortnite but also for its long-standing prominence in the gaming and tech sector. The company’s innovative offering, Unreal Engine, has revolutionized game development since its inception in 1995. The latest version, Unreal Engine 5, is also available free of charge for students and smaller creators, likely contributing to Epic’s favorable reputation among the youth across the United States.
