In the previous episode, Ine, Shouzou, Mino, and Shouta arrived in Atami and stayed at a lavish inn with a beautiful open-air bath. Mino successfully persuaded her grandparents to let them all share a room, citing their honeymoon as a reason. This meant that Mino and Shouta could stay together in the same room.

During the evening, Mino playfully requested Shouta to refer to her as “Grandma,”imitating Shouzou. This game prompted Mino to jokingly propose to Shouta, who responded in character as Shouzou that they were already wedded. Shouta then attempted to address Mino by her given name, resulting in an uncomfortable moment. They subsequently agreed to call it a night.

While Shouzou was sleeping, he missed his bath with Ine. The next day, he woke up as an elderly man with a strong body and even managed to beat Shouta in a swimming race. He attempted to convince Ine to show off her new bikini, but she was too timid.

Afterward, Shouzou and Ine participated in a heated game of ping pong, and then took a leisurely bath. They shared laughs about their present situations and expressed gratitude for their lives.

The following day, the group headed to a nearby jinja where they each wrote their wishes on ema tablets. This revealed that Mino’s wish was to return to Atami with Shouta, the person she had feelings for, while Shouzou’s wish was to be Ine’s husband in their next life.

During their visit, they also made a stop at an ancient kusunoki tree. According to local beliefs, each time someone walked around the tree, they would add a year to their lifespan. Shouzou, Ine, Mino, and Shouta all took turns circling the tree. As Shouta and Mino’s hands briefly touched, Shouta couldn’t help but wish for a deeper connection in their next life, but quickly withdrew.

However, Mino remembered how Shouta had always dreamed of going back to his hometown once he achieved his goal of playing soccer in Tokyo. It was his way of showing gratitude to the place that had raised him. While she had yet to find her own dream, Mino couldn’t help but admire her grandparents’ strong bond.

It was also disclosed that the night before, she had gone to Shouta while he was sleeping and kissed his forehead.

The group journeyed back home at the conclusion of the episode. As everyone slept, Ine reflected on the fact that they had been unable to go on their honeymoon due to her illness and Shouzou’s financial struggles. Shouzou had assured her that they would take their honeymoon once Ine’s health improved and he had made more money.

Despite Ine’s persistent illness, Shouzou never gave up on his promise to take care of her. Unfortunately, by the time he had accumulated enough funds, they had both reached old age. Nevertheless, Shouzou was able to fulfill his vow at last.
