Eric Dier warns Arsenal over Harry Kane “impact” ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Eric Dier has cautioned Arsenal about the potential impact of Harry Kane, as the former Tottenham teammates make their return to north London for the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

On Tuesday, April 9, at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. This match will also mark the first time that Kane and Dier, who were previously players for Tottenham, will play against the Gunners since their January 15, 2023 match, which resulted in a 2-0 loss against Mikel Arteta’s team.

Prior to Bayern’s upcoming match against Arsenal, Dier has cautioned the Premier League frontrunners that the highly skilled striker has the potential to dampen the atmosphere in north London.

He expressed his enthusiasm to face Arsenal in the Champions League during an interview with The Overlap.

“He cautioned us about Arsenal’s counterattack, mentioning that he was familiar with the skillful pace of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the wings. He also noted the impressive abilities of Leandro Trossard, emphasizing the importance of paying close attention to him during the game.”

“Football has a unique way of creating storylines, as seen with myself and Harry Kane facing Arsenal shortly after our departure from England. It’s a beautiful aspect of the sport.”

For both Harry Kane and myself, this match may hold a slightly different significance compared to the rest of the team. However, for the others, it is simply a regular Champions League game. I am confident that Harry will have a greater impact on the match than I will.

The topic will begin at 5:02.

Kane has netted the most Premier League goals against Arsenal (14) compared to any other player, with five of them being scored at the Emirates.

Despite the absence of away fans at the Emirates Stadium for the first leg of their quarter-final, Arsenal supporters are confident that this can be a significant advantage against Bayern Munich.

In the past three competitive matches between the two teams, Bayern has emerged victorious with a scoreline of 5-1 on each occasion. However, since their last encounter with the Bundesliga giants in 2017, Arsenal has undergone significant changes.

Bayern is currently in an unusual second place position in the German top-flight, trailing behind Bayer Leverkusen by 16 points.

Eric Dier was a guest on The Overlap, a show presented by Sky Bet.
