Escape from Tarkov has just unveiled one of its most extensive mid-wipe patches to date. The recent 0.15.5 update, which required an impressive eight hours of maintenance, has players buzzing with anticipation, especially with Halloween approaching. Below are the key highlights of the 0.15.5 patch for Escape from Tarkov, featuring an exciting and unexpected Halloween event not mentioned in the original patch notes.
Overview of Escape from Tarkov’s 0.15.5 Patch Notes
Stash Interaction During Matchmaking
Players now have the ability to manage their stash, monitor their profile, and utilize the Flea Market while searching for a server. Key functions include:
- Organizing and relocating items within the stash.
- Listing items for sale on the Flea Market.
- Accessing crucial character details such as health, loadout, gear, tasks, and skills, which also covers your group’s equipment.
New Achievement Rewards
Specific achievements now come with associated rewards, which will remain intact even after any global or personal resets. Players receive achievement items via in-game messages that don’t expire, ensuring they won’t miss out.
For those who completed various objectives during the “The Tarkov Mystery” event, rewards are granted for each achievement, which can be viewed by hovering over the achievement icon in the character screen.
Achievements and Corresponding Rewards:
- Peace Involved, Local Strong Man, and Cardinal Richelieu: Available in The Tarkov Mystery event; reward: Mr. Kerman’s cat hologram.
- Master of ULTRA: Reward: Adik Tracksuit upper clothing. (Previously, this was linked to the Stylish One task, which has been removed.)
Item Pinning and Locking Features in the Stash
Two new functionalities for item management have been introduced:
Pinning: Items that are pinned will not be auto-sorted but can be manually relocated. Players can pin items through a right-click menu or by activating “Pinning” mode (using the “P” key). Note that pinned status is lost if the item is moved or taken into a raid.
Locking: Locked items cannot be deleted, sold, shifted, or utilized (except for interacting with containers) and are safeguarded from any crafting, upgrades, or modifications. Players can lock items through the right-click menu or “Locking” mode (using the “L” key). Items locked within containers will maintain this status and cannot be transferred to inventory.
Additional Weapons and Attachments
The update introduces the MPS Auto Assault-12 Gen 1 and Gen 2 automatic shotguns, along with new mounts and attachments enhancing weapon diversity:
New bipod mounts include: Magpul M-LOK, Odin Works K-Pod KeyMod, and AI AXMC KeySlot Harris, as well as new attachments for SCAR, G36, and AUG rifles.
Halloween Special Event
As alluded to in the patch notes, “The Tarkov Mystery” event features a zombie threat on the Labs map. During this event, players can enter Labs for free and take on unique quests. A notable expansion in the Labs area has been introduced, a surprising addition that hints at potential future developments.
Some might find this unexpected, considering a new Cultist boss and event were launched just prior to this patch, also branded as a “Halloween event.” Nevertheless, fresh content is always welcome!
