Escape from Tarkov Developers Respond to Competitor Attempting to Recruit Players

Battlestate Games, the developer of Escape from Tarkov, has strongly criticized a competitor game for attempting to attract players by exploiting the recent controversy surrounding its PvE and pay-to-win downloadable content.

Battlestate Games, the creator of Escape from Tarkov, took to social media to criticize Arena Breakout Infinite for attempting to recruit its players. The official Battlestate Games X account shared a screenshot of a post from Arena Breakout Infinite claiming to welcome “homeless shooter looter”players and added the caption: “Enjoy a brief 20-minute experience in the blatantly plagiarized game.”

The recent post on the Arena Breaking Infinite social media account took aim at BSG for their latest edition announcement, causing uproar within the Escape from Tarkov community. The controversy revolves around the introduction of a $250 edition that includes a new PvE mode and has been criticized by players for its perceived pay-to-win features.

According to the developer, players who bought the season pass for the previous edition are entitled to receive all future DLC for free. This means that they believe they should not have to pay for the new content.

Ever since, BSG has been facing opposition from the community, resulting in a backlash where individuals have been sending bots to the Escape from Tarkov Discord to spam the same message repeatedly.

The reaction to the Battlestate Games post has been far from friendly, as both players and content creators are eager to criticize the developer.

“Despite lasting only 20 minutes against cheaters in your game, it is still 10 times longer than my usual duration. You are doing great,”streamer Benjamin ‘DrLupo’ Lupo expressed in response to BSG’s post, as seen in his tweet at https://x.com/DrLupo/status/1783577318994190443.

“Ah, so you ARE capable of communicating,”remarked another individual in a widely shared response.

Escape from Tarkov is expected to face competition from Arena Breakout Infinite, which will enter its closed beta on Steam in May, as well as Gray Zone Warfare and Hawked, both set to launch in 2024.

Currently, the post has garnered more than 2,000 replies and nearly 700,000 views. Rather than discouraging players from trying out one of the new titles, Battlestate Games may have actually given them another incentive to switch over.
