Essential Guide to Obtaining Tarker Meat in Escape from Tarkov

Tarker Meat is a unique and sought-after item in Escape from Tarkov, particularly for players engaged in the ongoing questlines from Ref. This item is critically needed in every wipe and plays a key role for players diving into Escape from Tarkov Arena. While hunting for Tarker Meat might present challenges, knowing where to look can enhance your chances significantly. Below is a comprehensive guide on effectively locating Tarker Meat in the game.

The Pack of Tarker Dried Meat falls under the provisions category; however, not all provision loot spawns can yield this item. For instance, while the Goshan grocery on Interchange offers a variety of provisions (including Herring, Sprats, and packaged drinks), it unfortunately does not spawn Tarker Meat or similar high-value items like Iskras or MREs.

While Interchange is renowned for its diverse food spawns, it isn’t the most reliable locale for Tarker Meat. To maximize your chances, focus on looting Ration Supply Crates, Duffle Bags, and Sports Bags. Ideal maps for these loot spawns include Reserve, Woods, and Customs. It is important to note that Reserve requires specific keys, such as RB-PSP1 and RB-PSP2, which can affect your ability to access certain loot.

Woods is a promising area, particularly around the Military/Emercom camp near ZB-016 and the Sawmill, which contains numerous large crates, including Ration and Medical crates. Here, players can also find valuable medical supplies such as Salewas, Morphines, and CMS Kits, potentially aiding future quests.

On Customs, the second floor of Stronghold is your best bet for Ration Supply Crates, complemented by loose provision spawns in the Scav room located on the first floor. Additionally, explore for Buried Caches, often referred to as “secret stashes,” which can yield a variety of rare items.

When exploring Reserve, direct your attention to the underground food reserve located next to the armored train and beneath the Bunker Hermetic Door extraction point. To make the most out of your visit here, possessing the RB-PSP1 key is essential. The secured areas are often stocked with multiple Ration Supply Crates and various loose spawns, making them ideal for food stocking and completing food-related quests.

Uses of Tarker Meat in Escape from Tarkov

Beyond serving as a consumable item to restore energy, a Pack of Tarker Dried Meat is also essential for completing the “Easy Money – Part 2” quest, which follows the successful completion of “Easy Money – Part 1” from Skier and the subsequent unlocking of Ref as a trader.

To complete Ref’s questline, players need to present a total of five Tarker Meat packs, all of which must be “found in raid.” Successfully doing so enhances your reputation with Ref, unlocking better trade options in exchange for GP Coins. If you’re primarily focused on the core gameplay and do not engage with Escape from Tarkov Arena, some quests from Ref may appear less pertinent, as your GP Coin earnings will mainly originate from the Arena mode.

Playing Escape from Tarkov Arena not only aids in leveling up but also presents opportunities to earn Roubles, which can be transferred to the base game, enhancing both your progression and in-game wealth.
