Euphoria Season 3 Delay: Zendaya vs. Sam Levinson

Euphoria Season 3 Delay: Zendaya vs. Sam Levinson

Several delays have plagued the release of Euphoria Season 3, but according to new rumors, the reason behind these setbacks is a reported disagreement between Zendaya and Sam Levinson.

Despite its controversial portrayal of teenagers in a small suburban town, Euphoria immediately captivated audiences when it premiered on television in 2019.

Despite being five years later, the series has undergone a major transformation in the public eye due to Season 2 leaving behind beloved characters and the possibility of a Season 3 being delayed.

Despite various explanations being given for the production delay of Season 3, recent reports suggest that a dispute between star Zendaya and creator Sam Levinson is the root cause of the delays.

The Hollywood Reporter shared a report about how both Levinson and Zendaya have attributed the delay in filming for Euphoria Season 3 to each other.

According to THR, Zendaya expressed her belief that Levinson was overly focused on writing and directing The Idol, an HBO Max series that has sparked controversy and features The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp.

During the filming of the first two seasons of Euphoria, Zendaya and Levinson had a close relationship due to Zendaya portraying a character based on Levinson and also serving as a producer for the show.

Despite the season ending, the Euphoria creator reportedly left for The Idol, causing frustration for Zendaya. This was due to the fact that the creator had not yet completed scripts for the show’s third season, which is still a work in progress over two years since the last episode of Season 2 aired.

Despite feeling slighted by Levinson’s decision to choose The Idol over Euphoria, Zendaya also expressed concerns about having Levinson’s wife, Ashley, as a producer for Season 3 due to conflicting creative visions.

On the other hand, there were other sources that asserted Zendaya’s one-track mind was the reason why Euphoria Season 3 did not take off.

According to an insider, Zendaya’s decision to focus on her blossoming film career rather than the HBO Max series was centered around her priorities.

It is intriguing to note that HBO permitted the Euphoria cast to pursue new and more significant projects while attempting to resolve issues with Levinson for Season 3. This particular allegation is quite noteworthy.

Despite the validity of these claims, Euphoria Season 3 is currently scheduled to begin filming in January 2025, with at least one main cast member, Sydney Sweeney, confirmed to reprise their role.
