Eustass “Captain”Kid, a member of the Worst Generation’s Eleven Supernovas, is a notable figure in One Piece. In Wano, he allied with Trafalgar Law to overthrow Big Mom. Following the battle, Kid and his crew set off for Elbaf, the Giants’ birthplace.
Despite being on friendly terms with the Giants, the Red Hair Pirates were present when Kid decided to raid Elbaf. However, this decision proved to be his downfall as “Red Hair”Shanks swiftly intervened, jumping onto Kid’s ship and unleashing a powerful Haki-enhanced attack with his sword, Gryphon, before he could even act.
After just a few moments, the Kid Pirates were completely wiped out. Shanks effortlessly defeated both Kid and his first mate, Killer, with one powerful strike. Meanwhile, Dorry and Brogy demolished their vessel, the “Victoria Punk.”As the Kid Pirates and their ship sank, fans were left to speculate about their fate. However, their unexpected reappearance in One Piece chapter 1115 caught readers by surprise.
Please note that this article contains significant spoilers from the One Piece manga up to chapter 1115.
One Piece Continues to Outsmart Kid in Chapter 1115 as He Makes a ‘Comeback’
Eustass Kid reappears in One Piece Chapter 1115
According to the initial leaks of One Piece chapter 1115, the transmission of Vegapunk’s ultimate message to the world persists. Similar to the previous chapters of the manga, this installment portrayed the response of numerous individuals eagerly anticipating Vegapunk’s astounding declaration.
Surprisingly, among the diverse group of individuals from around the globe were Kid and his crew (or so it seemed). However, in reality, the individuals depicted in One Piece chapter 1115 were not actually the Kid Pirates, but a band of impostors pretending to be them.
It was, in fact, Demaro Black’s gang, the very same group that had attempted to pass themselves off as the Straw Hat Pirates during their two-year absence from the public eye. Black’s goal was to leverage the Straw Hat crew’s renown in order to convince powerful fighters to join his ranks. However, his ambitious plan ultimately ended in complete failure.
Despite their disguises being completely ridiculous due to their varying appearances and body shapes, the Fake Straw Hat Pirates managed to deceive many people. However, their true identities were eventually revealed by Sentomaru and his team of Marines, leading to the capture of Black and his crew.
The latest installment of One Piece, chapter 1115, depicted Demaro Black and his comrades locked up in the G-4 Marine Base. Disguised as the Kid Pirates, they engaged in a heated discussion about the most powerful figure between the recently mentioned Joy Boy by Vegapunk and their own version of “Captain Kid.”
Despite his previous attempt to imitate Monkey D. Luffy, Demaro Black now set his sights on impersonating Eustass Kid. He went to great lengths to replicate Kid’s signature goggles, punk attire, and spiky hair. This attempt at a grotesque callback could be seen as a mocking parody of Kid’s unbalanced and one-sided rivalry with Luffy.
What Happened to the Kid Pirates?
Despite his devastating loss to Shanks in One Piece chapter 1079, Eustass Kid was never seen or referenced again in the manga. The situation seemed dire for Kid and his crew as they were submerged underwater with their ship destroyed and many of them unconscious.
Shanks’ attack was able to defeat both Kid and Killer, while the majority of the remaining crew was also rendered unconscious by his powerful Conqueror’s Haki. It is worth mentioning that Kid possesses a Devil Fruit ability and Killer can also be classified as one, as he was coerced into consuming a SMILE, an artificial Zoan Devil Fruit.
Although SMILEs do not always bestow Devil Fruit powers upon their users, they do still take away their ability to swim. This means that even if Killer were to heal from his injuries, he would not be able to save himself from drowning, let alone Kid.
Despite its reputation, it is a known fact that characters in the One Piece series rarely meet their demise, regardless of how dire the circumstances may seem. This is particularly evident with the villains, as the creator Eiichiro Oda often portrays their defeat as a fate worse than death: losing their dreams.
Despite being portrayed as a comedic rival to Luffy, Kid is actually a brutal individual who has caused harm and devastation to innocent civilians. He was responsible for starting the feud with Shanks and even attempted to eliminate his weaker allies in a vengeful act after being defeated by the Red Hair Pirates in the past.
Despite being a peaceful and diplomatic man, Shanks has shown that he can be merciless when the lives of his loved ones are threatened. Therefore, it is likely that after killing Kid, he showed no concern for his fate and left him to perish.
The death of Kid would undeniably highlight the importance of One Piece’s final saga, portraying Shanks as a kind but merciless and immensely formidable person. Additionally, it appears that Kid’s role in the narrative has been fulfilled.
Despite his best efforts, Kid remains no match for Luffy, as the only true rivals on the pirate side are Shanks and Blackbeard. Therefore, it would be fitting for Kid’s character to meet his end in a final act of recklessness, mirroring the way he lived his life.
Similarly, it could be argued that Shanks may have been content with defeating Kid without resorting to fatal measures. The “Red Hair”has shown admiration for the younger generation, implying that his intention could have been to impart a harsh lesson to Kid. As we wait to discover the outcome for Kid, one thing is certain – One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has once again employed his signature bizarre comedy to leave fans astonished.
