Exploring every foreshadowing of Aoyama’s reveal as the U.A. Traitor in My Hero Academia season 7

The U.S.J. Incident arc

Following their battle trials, Class 1-A headed to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint for intense training. Under the guidance of space hero Thirteen, the entire class was split into groups to participate in hand-to-hand combat as a warm-up. However, the League of Villains unexpectedly interrupted their session.

During this training, Aoyama was initially paired with Hagakure. However, when the League of Villains made an appearance, he suddenly disappeared and Hagakure was later spotted with Ojiro. After the League of Villains managed to escape, Aoyama reappeared, anxiously pleading with his friends to discreetly inquire about his whereabouts. He wanted to do so without raising any suspicions.

The Final Exams arc

The Class 1-A students visited the Forest for a training camp before their final exams. As part of the training, the students were required to face their teachers in groups of two. Aoyama and Uraraka were paired together to face Thirteen, during which Thirteen activated her vacuum and Aoyama and Uraraka held on tightly.

As Uraraka was strategizing her escape plan, Aoyama mentioned that he was also considering Deku’s potential actions, which she had already been contemplating. This caused her to blush and make a narrow escape from a potentially dangerous situation. Aoyama’s motivation for doing this could have been to prevent the school from visiting the forest training camp, as he needed to inform All for One of their location.

The Arc of the Forest Training Camp

Following the completion of their final exams, Class 1-A took a trip to the training camp located in the forest, where they had the opportunity to meet and train with the Wild, Wild Pussycats hero group. The hero group played a crucial role in helping Class 1-A develop and improve their quirks and physical abilities.

Throughout the arc, Aoyama was observed concealing himself in the bushes following the actions of Dabi and Twice. Despite making eye contact with Dabi, the villain did not pursue the hero, almost as if he was aware of Aoyama’s allegiance.

Hideout Raid Arc

After Bakugo was kidnapped, the students of Class 1-A came up with a plan to rescue their classmate. However, their teacher prohibited them from taking any further action as they had already disobeyed the teachers’ orders in the previous arc.

Despite the opinions of the other students, Aoyama was the only one who suggested that they leave everything to All Might and the teachers instead of going after Bakugo. Many fans perceived this as cowardice on Aoyama’s part, but it is possible that he was concerned about potential complications with All for One, to whom he had to report their actions.

Provisional Hero License Exam Arc

Once Class 1-A and the other classes of U.A. High School had become capable heroes, they proceeded to take the Provisional Hero License Exam in order to obtain the official license required to become professional heroes.

Despite the intense competition within Class 1-A to defeat their classmates, Aoyama chose to remain in hiding. This could be due to his desire to leave the class altogether, as he had previously caused harm by serving as a spy for All for One.

U.A. School Festival Arc

Following the rescue of Eri from Overhaul, the U.A. High School Festival was approaching. The students of Class 1-A gathered to plan a group performance, ultimately deciding on a skit that incorporated dancing and singing. As the festival preparations were underway, it was uncovered that Aoyama often spent his lunch breaks alone, potentially hinting at his hidden identity as the U.A. traitor.

Additionally, a significant indication of Aoyama potentially being the U.A. traitor was his secretive visit to Midoriya’s room balcony where he left a message using cheese bits that read ‘I Know’. This led Midoriya to suspect that Aoyama was aware of the truth about One for All. However, it is possible that Aoyama deliberately did this to distract Midoriya from considering him as a suspicious individual.

The Dark Deku arc

After the League of Villains attacked U.A. High School, Deku blamed himself and left the school. His friends were concerned and decided to intervene by setting a trap for him. They wanted to give him a break as he traveled across Japan to stop villainous activities on his own.

It is likely that Aoyama’s true identity as the U.A. traitor was hinted at through his absence during Class 1-A’s battle against the media to defend Deku. While Hagakure was also missing, she had never shown any previous involvement with Deku. This could suggest that Aoyama was overwhelmed with guilt and lacked the courage to face his classmates.

The latest episode revealed Aoyama as the U.A. traitor, making it intriguing to see how the character will redeem himself in upcoming episodes.
