The latest update for Modern Warfare 3, Season 5 Reload, brings a fresh multiplayer map variant, two additional weapons, a variety of new and returning game modes, and a Resurgence variant for Warzone.
Prior to the upcoming update, the Warzone developers had already disrupted the meta by addressing a game-breaking bug with the COR-45 and Renetti handguns. Additionally, Activision detailed their strategy to revamp the CoD HQ user interface, which will begin in Season 5 Reloaded.

Season 5 Reloaded Release Date
The release date for MW3’s Season 5 Reloaded is scheduled for Aug. 21, 2024, at 9 AM PT| 12 PM ET. There may be a brief period of downtime before the new season becomes available to players.
New Stash House map variant
The mid-season update introduces a cell-shaded version of Stash House, featuring bold contrasts and crisp lines on the main house and its surroundings. As per past map revamps, a 24/7 playlist is anticipated to allow players to fully immerse themselves in the fresh setting.
New Fishfection, Paintball, and Defuse or Destroy Game Modes
The addition of Season 5 Reloaded brings two new game modes and one returning mode to the multiplayer experience. One of these is Fishfection, which requires players to rely solely on the compound bow and spear as their weapons. Similar to the traditional Infection mode, the objective is to avoid being eliminated by fish operators or players who have already been taken out.
Paintball is available in two game modes: capture-the-flag and kill-confirmed. Players have enhanced mobility and use paint splatters instead of bullets. Despite the one-shot kill weapons, the objective remains unchanged for both modes.
Inspired by its predecessors in the CoD franchise, Defuse and Destroy makes a comeback. Similar to Search and Destroy, teams alternate between attacking and defending bomb sites, but in this mode, the bomb is already planted at the start of each round, creating a fast-paced competition to either defuse or defend it.
Supreme Resurgence returns
Supreme Resurgence has made its triumphant return after its initial appearance in Warzone. The game mode now offers an enhanced experience, as Rebirth Island is stocked with dominant ground loot and top-tier weapon blueprints featuring a range of camos that reflect the current meta.
To even out the game mode, the cost of loadouts has been raised, and the Resurgence timer has been extended. Players who emerge victorious in their initial Supreme Resurgence match will receive the “Spilled Beans”weapon camo as a reward.
Upcoming Contract and Public Event
The Elite contracts increase the difficulty of regular challenges by reducing the available time and extending the duration of the Most Wanted Contract.
Elite Contracts are a valuable source of rewards, as they guarantee an Elite cache containing Bonus XP, Cash, and one of the following: the Foresight Killstreak, a [Redacted] weapon, the Specialist Perk Package, or an Advanced UAV.
At the same time, the Recon Flyover public event sends out two rounds of cutting-edge UAVs, focusing on the most heavily populated sections of the map.
