According to online leaks, it appears that Togashi’s much-loved manga will be arriving sooner than expected. Shueisha, the renowned Japanese publishing company that publishes the manga weekly in Shōnen Jump, has reportedly reached an agreement with the author.
The Hunter x Hunter manga has been officially greenlit for full-time serialization in one of Shueisha’s magazines, with a set start date of August 20, 2024. It has not yet been confirmed if it will be published in the same magazine as before.
Hunter x Hunter’s Recent Arc: Where did the Series Last End?
The manga, titled ‘Succession Contest Arc’, is still ongoing with a total of 52 chapters released to date. This arc delves into the intense power struggle among the 14 princes of the Kakin Empire as they fight for the throne in a deadly succession war.
The most recent chapter of Hunter x Hunter is Chapter 400, which was released on 25 December 2022. The chapter opens with Phinks and Feitan searching for the Heil-Ly hideout, with Nobunaga later joining them. While on their way to the hideout in Tier 2, they are suddenly interrupted by an announcement.
Meanwhile, Melody is back and determined to leave her detention in order to look into Fugetsu’s well-being. When she encountered difficulties, she turned to Kurapika for assistance. However, it was discovered that Kurapika had aligned himself with the fifth prince of Kakin in the ongoing conflict.
The manga will be making its return on October 7, 2024 with the release of a new chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump. Furthermore, the 38th volume of the series is scheduled to be released on September 4, 2024.
