Despite rumors of Seungri’s intentions to establish a nightclub in Hong Kong, one of the country’s most prominent celebrity heirs is garnering interest for his communication with the former BIGBANG member.
Recently, Seungri has once again become the focus of attention due to the release of a BBC documentary that delved into the 2018-2019 “Burning Sun”scandal. This scandal revolved around Seungri and his group of acquaintances. Seungri’s club, Burning Sun, was found to be involved in unlawful activities including drug use, date rape, sexual harassment and assault, unauthorized filming of sexual acts (often without consent), and other offenses.
The news of Seungri’s plan to open a new club quickly went viral due to his scandal. On May 22, 2024, a netizen claimed to have heard rumors of Seungri’s involvement in a new nightclub opening in Hong Kong. They reported seeing him at the Creamfields Hong Kong music festival.
In Hong Kong, Seungri’s permanent residence was discovered and it was revealed that he intends to conduct business in the East Tsim Sha Tsui area. It has been reported that the former BIGBANG member has been socializing with distributors of alcohol and owners of nightclubs.
Shortly after, the news spread to various media outlets, with some alleging that Seungri had acquired a lavish apartment in Hong Kong. As a result, Hong Kong citizens took to the internet to voice their disapproval towards Seungri and his potential presence in their region.
Despite opposition from various individuals, one notable figure who strongly opposes Seungri’s presence in Hong Kong is Jacky Heung, the son of renowned Hong Kong showbiz tycoon Charles Heung.
The actor utilized his social media platform to disclose a report regarding Seungri’s intentions in Hong Kong and also expressed his personal opinions. Directing his message towards Seungri, he firmly stated, “Your presence is not desired here, therefore refrain from visiting. It is best for you to stay away from the entertainment industry in Hong Kong.”
Despite Seungri’s supposed plans to open a nightclub in Hong Kong, Jacky Heung made it clear that he did not support the idea. He warned Seungri, saying, “Do not bring your negative influence here and affect us in a negative way. Please leave.”
