Ex-IZONE Member Hitomi Rumored to Re-Debut in Kim Jaejoong’s New Girl Group — Here’s Why People Think So

Prior to the debut of Kim Jaejoong’s girl group, speculation has been spreading that Honda Hitomi will be included in the lineup for the following reasons.

On Aug. 30th, Jaejoong, formerly of TVXQ and now the founder of entertainment agency inKODE, revealed his plans to debut SAY MY NAME, which will be the first girl group to debut under the label.

The team is scheduled to make their debut in October, and at this point, the only member who has revealed their identity is Dohee. She was initially introduced through a video teaser.

As the K-pop community’s interest in the group grew, rumors about the members began to circulate when keen-eyed fans noticed that former IZ*ONE member Honda Hitomi might be a part of the group.

Although it has not been confirmed, supporters solidified this speculation by pointing out that Noh Hyun Tae, the CEO of inKODE, began following the idol on Instagram in July.

Following her departure from IZ*ONE, Hitomi returned to her home country of Japan and has since been promoting as an idol-actress. Additionally, her account being listed as based in Korea further supports this claim.

Additionally, if this speculation is accurate, it would provide an explanation for Hitomi’s departure from her Japanese agency, Mama&Son, in May and her subsequent inactivity on social media platforms earlier this year.

Despite initially expressing her desire to continue her career with AKB48, Hitomi’s sudden graduation last year shocked fans and raised questions about whether she had been offered a bigger opportunity to leave the popular J-pop girl group.

When news of this rumor spread to an online forum, Hitomi received an outpouring of positive and encouraging messages, showing support for her future endeavors.

During her tenure in IZ*ONE, Hitomi was highly adored for her endearing persona and exceptional vocal and dance abilities.

Despite the fact that it has been three years since their disbandment in 2021, people are still eagerly anticipating her return to the K-pop scene.

The following are a few of the comments:

  • “If she isn’t updating on her Instagram, she must have really been preparing for something.”
  • “Wow? Looking at the member that was just revealed, it seems like they’re going for a cute and adorable vibe, but the image itself suits them.”
  • “I cheered for her because I liked how she sang and danced diligently and also worked hard on Korean! Since she’s good at Korean, I think she’ll do well in her promotions, too.”
  • “Hitomi is a hard worker and is really sincere and kind to her fans. I remember everyone being shocked when she got a Korean driver’s license.”
  • “Hitomi, fighting!”
