On April 19th, it was reported by a media outlet that Areum and her boyfriend, A, have ended their relationship. The report stated that the two decided to break up due to various suspicions and conflicts that arose between them. Currently, all photos of A have been removed from Areum’s social media accounts, and there is no evidence of their past relationship on her profiles.
On that day, Areum brought up her article about her breakup and clarified, “I want to make it clear that everything is okay, but I have never given an interview, so please do not write as if I have. I do not participate in any type of interviews.”
Moreover, on her birthday, Areum expressed, “I miss (my children) so much. If only I could embrace them, everything would feel complete. Today, I miss them even more. I cherish the moments we have spent together.”
Last December, Areum made a simultaneous announcement about her divorce and remarriage. Along with sharing her new relationship with A, she also exposed her ex-husband’s domestic violence and child abuse. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, as a mother of two sons.
Areum specifically stated that she was carrying A’s child and expressed her intention to register their marriage once the lawsuit has concluded.
Despite being accused of swindling over 40 million won from at least 10 fans and acquaintances, Areum maintained that she was innocent. There were also suspicions that her large sum of borrowed money was used for sports gambling. However, Areum vehemently denied these claims, stating that her accounts were hacked. She showed signs of distress and even resorted to extreme measures during the investigation.
Upon her recovery, Areum made a comeback and has since launched her own channel on AfreecaTV. She firmly stated, “I did not engage in gambling and I am not a fraudster. The children were brought to a safe protection facility.”
