Ex-UFC champ reveals offer to fight Jake Paul rival on Mike Tyson card

Jose Aldo, a former UFC champion, has disclosed that he was presented with an opportunity to compete on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson event. The proposed match was set to be against one of Jake’s recent adversaries.

In a surprising turn of events, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson revealed in mid-March that they would be facing off in a highly anticipated fight. Despite a significant 31-year age difference and a previous friendship, the two had previously dismissed the possibility of a fight.

After a few months had passed, there were noticeable developments. The highly anticipated fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is set to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with other fights also being planned for the event.

It appears that one potential fight will not be taking place, as Jose Aldo has disclosed that he was offered a spot on the undercard but is holding out to see if any other opportunities arise in the Octagon.

“Regarding boxing, I was actually set to fight on the Jake Paul card. He had extended an invitation for me to participate in what is sure to be a spectacular event, but for now I will have to wait and see what opportunities the UFC presents to me,”the Brazilian fighter shared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“I have a great deal of love and respect for this organization, which is why I am committed to listening to their proposals. While I am confident in my abilities in the boxing ring and have goals to achieve there, I must take a step back and carefully consider the UFC’s offer. My dream has always been to be a part of this organization, and I want to make sure I make the best decision for my future.”

The timestamp of 2:22:00 remains the same.

The 37-year-old also mentioned that he had considered facing Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat, but that is currently not a possibility.

Now that Jake and ‘Iron’ Mike have initiated the press events for the upcoming fight, the remaining details will be finalized in the near future. Considering that offers have been extended to former UFC fighters, such as Mike Perry, it is highly probable that crossover fights will be incorporated into the event.
