Exactly when Boruto and Kawaki’s opening-scene fight takes place has been made a bit clearer with Kashin Koji’s new powers

With the recent release of chapter 13 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the manga series has at last revealed the protagonist’s flashback with Kashin Koji. This has allowed fans to be introduced to the idea of Prescience and how it enabled Kashin Koji to see into all potential futures.

Through the use of the Shinjutsu, Kashin Koji came to the realization that every potential outcome would result in Kawaki being consumed by the Ten-Tails and the world being destroyed. As a result, he joined forces with Boruto to eliminate the Divine Trees and guide the future towards the most favorable outcome.

Despite this, it seems that fans may have overlooked the fact that Kashin Koji’s explanation of his powers could also provide clues about the timing of Boruto and Kawaki’s fight shown in the flash-forward.

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

When will the Boruto vs. Kawaki fight take place?

It has been observed that many of Kashin Koji’s visions of the future involve the death of Boruto and Kawaki being sacrificed to the Ten-Tails. This will result in the harvesting of the Chakra fruit and ultimately lead to the destruction of the world.

Nevertheless, it is clear from the first chapter of the manga, specifically the flash-forward scene, that both Kawaki and Boruto will still be alive in the future and will have a final showdown against each other. This fight will occur before the Shinobi confront the Divine Trees and Ten Tails, as it is currently impossible for any other Shinobi to battle them with the same skill as the main characters.

As a result, it is highly likely that Kawaki may not engage in a fight with Boruto, despite his mission to prevent the resurrection of Momoshiki. This is also supported by hints in the manga, such as Jura’s desire to battle the Otsutsuki after learning about the Thorn Soul Bulb. As a result, it may still be some time before fans get to see the anticipated showdown between the two protagonists.

It is important for fans to be aware that there are other individuals in Hidden Leaf Village who are aware of the true nature of Omnipotence Shinjutsu aside from Eida and Daemon, the cyborgs. These individuals include Sarada Uchiha, Sumire Kakei, Shikamaru Nara, and Ino Yamanaka. As a result, they have the ability to speak on his behalf to officials from the Land of Fire.

Hence, it is highly likely that the events depicted in the flash-forward will take place after the Shinobi successfully defeat Code and eliminate all threats posed by the Divine Tree. This could potentially mirror the structure of the final battle in Naruto Shippuden, wherein Naruto and Sasuke fought each other after the Shinobi emerged victorious in their war against Kaguya Otsutsuki.

Therefore, viewers can anticipate that the epic flash-forward battle will occur near the conclusion of the manga series. Based on the information we have, Masashi Kishimoto initially planned for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex to only span 40 chapters. However, at the request of Mikio Ikemoto, he agreed to expand it to 80 chapters.

Fans can anticipate seeing the flash-forward fight in chapters 70-80 of the manga series. However, there is a slight possibility that the flash-forward scene may not occur, as it was originally a result of an alternate future.

  • Divine Trees may be inspired from Black Clover in a way most people miss
  • “THEY GOT SHINKI”: Fans are in disbelief as the new Shinju in Two Blue Vortex resembles Gaara’s son
  • Sarada’s end-of-series powers in the manga could mimic Kaguya Otsutsuki’s, and the anime may have foreshadowed it
