Ex-Boxing Champion Expresses Concern for Mike Tyson Ahead of Jake Paul Fight

A former boxing champion has expressed significant worries about Mike Tyson’s well-being as he prepares to face Jake Paul, commenting that “Iron”Mike appears to look “pregnant” in real life.

When the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was first disclosed, many critics noted the considerable age difference, with Tyson being 58 years old, raising alarm bells about potential health risks associated with his participation.

Although the match was originally slated for July, Tyson had to withdraw due to a flare-up of an ulcer. The bout has now been rescheduled for mid-November, but concerns regarding his health remain a pressing issue. Tyson will need to complete extensive medical evaluations before the fight, a requirement pushed by Netflix and various promoters.

But it’s not just the promoters worrying; Erich ‘Butterbean’ Esch, a former world super heavyweight champion, has also voiced his apprehensions.

“I saw Mike about three weeks ago, and he looked pregnant,” Esch remarked in an interview with AL.com. “If we were in the ring, I would knock him out. He has no chin. The problem with those who previously lost to Tyson is that they didn’t press him during the fight.”

Jake Paul is gearing up to go head-to-head against boxing icon Mike Tyson live on Netflix this November.

Butterbean also labeled Tyson a “bully” for his aggressive fighting style, stating, “His chin would be right there for the taking. I would knock Mike Tyson out,” suggesting he would be willing to fight the 58-year-old champion.

As anticipation builds for the Paul vs. Tyson fight, the 57-year-old Butterbean has challenged Jake to a fight as well. He proposed a $2 million winner-takes-all match in case Tyson withdraws but also described their fight as a “scam.”

Despite ongoing concerns regarding ‘Iron’ Mike’s health, Jake has not considered bringing in a backup fighter for the event. He remains solely focused on the boxing legend before his expected transition to MMA next year.
