As Western Pokémon TCG enthusiasts get excited for upcoming releases like Surging Sparks, many are eagerly watching Pokémon Japan and sets such as Supercharged Breakers and Paradise Dragona to see which cards will make the transition.
Fortunately, a Japanese Pokémon TCG championship unveiled some surprises, giving fans a fresh look at several upcoming cards, including Tera ex versions of popular Dragon-type Pokémon that could impact the competitive scene significantly.
Pokebeach shared details about the new cards, showcasing Tera Hydreigon ex, Tera Tatsugiri ex, Milotic ex, and more. Additionally, X user PokemonRestocks also posted about the cards, which sparked an interesting discussion in the comments section.

There’s a significant amount of excitement surrounding both Hydreigon ex and Tatsugiri ex, especially since these Dragon-type Pokémon have had less impressive cards in the past.
One user expressed their enthusiasm by saying, “YES TATSUGIRI I LOVE IT,” and another chimed in with, “Yessir more dragons.”
Comments on Pokebeach delve into the artistry and practical applications of the new move sets. “Oh my god, Hydreigon finally got a good card for the first time in years. I am so happy oh my god,” one comment reads, while another mentions, “Glad to get a Dragon-type Stellar Tatsugiri; if it gets a SIR, it might be my chase card of the set.”
In the meantime, some fans are already envisioning strategic uses for the cards, with one person commenting, “Tatsugiri’s attack is kinda busted. It could work with Regidrago, somehow.”
However, not every fan is on board with the new cards. A few are still hoping for the return of a previous type of Tera card. One comment stated, “I hope we’re not done with type-shifted Teras,” referring to cards that give Pokémon entirely new Tera-types.
It remains to be seen whether we’ll be exclusively focusing on Stellar-tera moving forward, but there are certainly plenty of exciting combinations waiting to be explored in the TCG.
