Following doctor Yang Jae Woong’s public apology, also known as EXID Hani’s fiancé, Dispatch interviewed the mother of Yang’s deceased patient. The mother reprimanded him for his arrogance and self-importance.
The tragedy has caused a public outcry, leading to calls for accountability.
33-year-old Park passed away two months ago at Yang’s W Jin Hospital in Bucheon, Korea.
After her passing, there has been no one held responsible.
Despite the backlash from the public and Park’s family, Yang did not let it affect his usual media appearances and even announced his marriage to Hani during this period.
Park’s mother staged a protest outside the hospital, insisting on learning the truth about her daughter’s unexpected passing.

According to a report by Dispatch, instead of addressing her concerns, the hospital staff ignored her and reported her to the police.
“I lost my daughter. My family is suffering. The people from the hospital walked past me with shamelessness. Not a single one of them apologized. Then, the police showed up. So instead of apologizing to me, the hospital reported me,”

According to the National Forensic Service’s autopsy report, which stated that Park died from an intestinal obstruction, Dispatch reported on the events that led to her death on May 27, 2024.
Despite her complaints of abdominal pain, the hospital refused to call 911 and instead confined her to an isolation room where they administered tranquilizers.
Park’s mother was filled with indignation.
“Even though my daughter complained of abdominal pain, the hospital left her confined in an isolation room. She asked for 911 to be called, but the hospital disregarded her request.”

Park, a highly skilled individual who completed their studies at a renowned university in New York and had experience as a teaching assistant in Korea, was admitted to Yang’s hospital for their addiction to a weight loss medication called the “butterfly pill”(Phentermine).
Her life was lost after being hospitalized for 17 days.
Upon reaching out for remarks, the hospital informed Dispatch that the responsible individual was not available.
In an interview with Dispatch, Park’s mother voiced concerns about the treatment process at Yang’s facility. She stated that Yang was absent during Park’s hospitalization and that there were no updates on his progress.
Park’s mother described the horrific mistreatment that her daughter was subjected to, including being administered tranquilizers and being confined to an isolation chamber. These actions caused her to feel disoriented and rendered her unable to communicate.
The National Forensic Service concluded that Park’s death was caused by “pseudo-intestinal obstruction,”a condition that results in blockage of the intestines due to nerve issues.
Several patients observed Park experiencing intense pain, and one patient even had to assist her in getting off the ground.
Despite CCTV footage showing Park requesting for 911 to be called and visibly dealing with a nosebleed, the hospital chose to ignore her.
Despite her daughter’s death, Park’s mother has not wavered in her belief that the hospital is responsible for her daughter’s passing. As a result, she has taken legal action and filed a lawsuit for negligent manslaughter against the hospital, citing their alleged neglect as the cause of her daughter’s passing.
Additionally, she mentioned that the family was not informed about Park’s passing on the day it occurred, but rather found out after receiving a call from a different hospital.
Four days after the passing of Park on May 31, 2024, Yang and Hani revealed their intention to get married, causing Park’s family to feel highly offended and insensitive.
Ever since, they have been actively involved in bringing attention to Park’s death by creating public petitions, posting on YouTube, and releasing media reports.
Yang expressed his apologies through his agency, Mystic Story, which was deemed insincere by Park’s family.
“Yang may have issued a public apology, but he never reached out to our family directly.”
