Ex-NoPixel Developer DW Faces $150,000 Legal Defeat Against Koil in GTA RP Lawsuit

Former NoPixel developer Daniel ‘DW’ Tracey has faced a significant defeat in his legal battle against the server’s owner, Koil, almost two years after initiating the lawsuit.

NoPixel is well-known in the realm of Grand Theft Auto roleplaying streams, holding the title of the most popular roleplaying server, and is a frequent playground for many prominent GTA RP streamers.

Among the various creators associated with the server, DW gained recognition through his streaming efforts that highlighted development work for major events in NoPixel, where he also played a character sharing his initials.

After parting ways with NoPixel in 2023, DW filed a lawsuit against Koil, seeking damages approximating $150,000. After nearly two years of legal proceedings, a ruling has now been issued in favor of Koil.

According to the court documents, “On September 23, 2024, Defendants Koil Content Creation Pty Ltd. and Mitchell Clout submitted a motion for summary judgment.”

Subsequently, on October 18, 2024, the involved parties agreed that the judgment should be in favor of Koil Content Creation Pty Ltd. and Mitchell Clout. As a result of this stipulation, the court granted the motion, entering a Summary Judgment in favor of the defendants against the plaintiff, That One Video Entertainment LLC.

This ruling underscores the judges’ favor towards Koil in this legal matter.

Furthermore, any upcoming court dates related to this case have been canceled and removed from the schedule.

While DW does have the option to initiate a new lawsuit to revisit the case, for the time being, the judgment stands in favor of Koil, leaving DW to consider alternative strategies following this setback.
