EXO’s Baekhyun caused a stir on social media with his farewell message, garnering more than 5.4 million impressions. This came after a fansite master announced the closure of fan pages dedicated to the idol on his birthday.
On May 6, what was meant to be a joyous occasion for both EXO-Ls and Baekhyun as it marked the idol’s birthday became tinged with sadness when a devoted fansite master made the decision to close their fan page and YouTube channel.
After Eris harshly criticized them for “ruining”the day with their announcement, Baekhyun of EXO came across the post and responded with a heartfelt reply, despite feeling devastated.

Specifically, @/El_Cielo_9256 has emerged as one of the most engaged “hommas”(homepage masters) for Baekhyun, amassing a following of over 7.2k since its launch in May 2023.
Throughout the course of a year, the dedicated fansite owner consistently delivered top-notch photographs and footage of the celebrity from their official engagements and public appearances.
On May 6, which was Baekhyun’s special day, the fansite master unexpectedly made a post on their X account, stating:
“CLOSE. There’s some unfinished business, so I will close this account by the end of the month. YouTube channel will also be deleted!”

Upon learning of this, Eris and fans from both international and Korean communities expressed their frustration and disappointment at the announcement of their departure coinciding with Baekhyun’s birthday. EXO-Ls noted that it would have been more considerate for the group to wait just one or two additional days.
Additionally, the announcement of closure without any legitimate justification has provoked frustration among fans, potentially leading to unwarranted negative perceptions of Baekhyun.

Despite this, Baekhyun demonstrated his warm and kind nature by responding to his “homma’s”post and stating:

Despite constantly breaking their hearts, EXO-Ls couldn’t help but admire his genuine love for his supporters.
In addition, they emphasized that Baekhyun’s sincere and kind personality is not appreciated by others even though he consistently fails to receive the same treatment in return.

As the criticism towards them grew, the fansite master turned to X to clarify their situation and cited:
“I don’t know why I have to explain why I’m closing my account, but I’m explaining because I think there’s a bad story coming out […]
The reason for deleting the account is that my current life is so busy that I don’t have time to worry about such stuff. I turned it on because I wanted to take care of his birthday even though I barely slept to the point where my acquaintances asked me if I was still sleeping. If the account is maintained, I’ll try to watch it even though I know it’s physically unreasonable, so I’m deleting it.”
