To provide aid for children in the Gaza Strip, a group of K-pop idols and Korean celebrities have joined forces to organize a bazaar. Can you explain the purpose of this event?
On April 29, Chairman Chung Gap Young announced that the Korean Committee for UNICEF would be hosting a bazaar with the participation of “K-pop Fairies”S.E.S Bada and Eugene, as well as actress So Yujin.
Along with them, other top stars such as EXO Suho, Kwon Eunbi, and 2NE1 Dara also joined the group.
12th Green Heart Bazaar with UNICEF Korea: Idols Join Hands to Help Children in Gaza
For the past 12 years, S.E.S Bada, Eugene, and Shoo (with So Yujin replacing Shoo this year) have organized the annual charity event “Green Heart Bazaar”since 2012.
Originally initiated by Bada in 2009 within a small group of fans, it evolved into an annual tradition where they sell cherished goods or individually tailored merchandise to raise funds for the betterment of the environment, animals, and children.
This year, they will collaborate with UNICEF Korea, an organization that supports children globally by raising funds and advocating for children’s rights in Korea through UNICEF child-friendly society creation projects.
The 12th Green Heart Bazaar will specifically allocate all proceeds to aid children in the Gaza Strip through the “UNICEF Gaza Strip Emergency Relief Campaign.”The donation’s purpose is to secure their nutrition, health, access to safe drinking water, and sanitation.
The Bazaar, which will be held on May 11 from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM, will be located on the walking trail near Songjeong Sports Park in Seongdong-gu. S.E.S Bada & Eugene and So Yujin will personally oversee the bazaar and assist with sales.
