Expert JGOD’s Solution for Atrocious Weapon Balancing in Black Ops 6 Warzone

The launch of Black Ops 6 marks the beginning of a fresh era for Warzone, introducing a plethora of new weapons and gameplay modifications. Nevertheless, CoD specialist JGOD has advised the developers to prioritize addressing weapon balance and the current state of the meta before the release of the new game.

Despite the vast selection of guns in Warzone from both MW3 and MW3, only a select few are truly effective in practical gameplay. Players who opt out of using these popular choices put themselves at a disadvantage, as the majority of the lobby is armed with high-level weapons that can quickly send them to the Gulag.

JGOD, a Warzone expert, brought attention to this matter in a recent video on his YouTube channel. In the video, he dissected and discussed the changes he believed were necessary for the upcoming release of Black Ops 6.

In the video, he stated that the game’s weapon balancing has been terrible, which is one of the major problems at the moment. He argued that players are consistently restricted in their ability to create effective loadouts for competitive play.

He contrasted the current iteration of Warzone with the initial version, which covers the areas of Verdansk from MW2019 to Caldera in Vanguard. In the original, every season featured a diverse selection of guns that were considered the best. For instance, during its release, the M4A1, AX-50, Kilo 141, and three or four others were all strong contenders, while BOCW Season 6 offered approximately eight equally competitive options.

As a result, there used to be a greater range of options and constructive discussions about the most effective choice for sniping, close quarters combat, and long distance combat. However, the current meta is quite straightforward, with everyone being well aware of the weapons that provide a competitive advantage.

According to JGOD, the reason for the one-sided Warzone metas is due to the developers’ approach to weapon balancing. They tend to focus on nerfing the strongest guns instead of improving the weakest ones.

“According to the YouTuber, the recent updates have placed a strong emphasis on taking the enjoyment out of the game. This is typically achieved through nerfing rather than buffing. The YouTuber noted that certain weapons were already in a satisfactory state and did not receive any complaints, but were still subject to nerfs.”

His opinion is that this method limits players’ choices and leads to a stagnant meta, with one weapon reigning supreme each season. However, instead of boosting lower-performing guns, nerfing the top ones results in a scenario where all weapons except for a select few feel inadequate.

It remains to be seen if the developers will address this “obvious”problem before Warzone merges with Black Ops 6. However, they still have the opportunity to improve weapon balancing throughout the remainder of Season 5 and the entirety of Season 6.
