Expert Opinions on Jake Paul’s Steroid Use Before Mike Tyson Fight

Ever since Jake Paul began his journey in professional boxing, he has been accused of using steroids. As his fight with Mike Tyson approaches, doctors have now given their opinions on the matter.

Netflix’s inaugural live combat sports event, scheduled for November 15, will feature Jake Paul going head-to-head against boxing icon Mike Tyson. However, the highly anticipated fight has not been without its share of controversy.

The scheduled fight for July 20 was postponed due to a flare-up of an ulcer suffered by the 58-year-old during a flight in May.

Furthermore, numerous combat sports enthusiasts have voiced their disapproval of Jake’s decision to face Tyson in the ring, with concerns for the well-being of ‘Iron Mike’ at this point in his life.

Additionally, former MMA fighter Dillon Danis has suggested that another factor contributing to Paul’s behavior is his use of steroids. On August 6, Danis tweeted a photo of a visibly acne-prone Jake with the statement, “Steroids have negative effects, especially for younger individuals.”

According to Dr. Stuart Fischer, a physician based in New York, the photo is undoubtedly questionable.

According to Fischer, in an interview with The Daily Mail, steroids have the potential to weaken the skin and cause hormonal imbalances, resulting in issues such as acne and hair loss.

Tom Coughlin, a sports performance nutritionist, added his perspective, acknowledging that ‘The Problem Child’ may have a valid reason for using steroids to enhance his performance. He pointed to his TKO victory over Mike Perry as a potential example.

“He added that, compared to professional athletes, he is not subjected to the same level of scrutiny.”

Despite their expertise, both individuals do not consider the photo to be conclusive evidence and cannot definitively determine if Jake is using steroids without conducting a proper test.

The topic of Jake’s alleged steroid use has remained a controversial issue over the years. In 2023, former UFC fighter Nate Diaz publicly accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs.
