Following the 10 episodes dedicated to the Public School Arc, the series concluded with its focus shifting from Weston College to the Phantomhive manor in the final episode. This last installment depicted the daily lives of Ciel, Sebastian, and the servants, but it also offered more than just that.

As the episode drew to a close, the setting changed to Germany, delving into a perplexing case surrounding a haunted forest and a werewolf. The enigmatic conclusion of season 4 of Black Butler has sparked conversations among fans, leaving them curious about the potential for a new adventure for Ciel and Sebastian and what it could entail.

Possible Continuation of Ciel and Sebastian’s Story in the Emerald Witch Arc

The conclusion of Black Butler’s fourth season not only tied up loose ends from the Public School Arc, but also hinted at a darker mission involving curses, werewolves, and witches. While the majority of the episode focused on the everyday lives of Ciel and Sebastian, the final moments sparked intriguing conversations.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis’ journey. For those familiar with the manga, it is clear that the story is far from its conclusion, as the Public School Arc is succeeded by the Emerald Witch Arc. Essentially, the ending of season 4 of Black Butler hinted at the upcoming Emerald Witch Arc.

In the concluding scenes of Black Butler season 4, two nobles were seen galloping on their horses in Germany, accompanied by their hunting dogs in pursuit of a fox. During their journey, one of them mentions a rumor about the cursed forest. Despite this, they come to a mutual decision to pursue the fox. As they continue riding, the nobles come across an elderly woman adorned with an amulet. She cautions them about a curse and pleads for them to flee.

Despite her warning, the hunters continue to venture deeper into the woods. Eventually, they come across the hounds they had sent after the fox. However, the nobles then notice that the dogs are barking at something.

During that specific moment, episode 12 of Black Butler season 4 features a creature that bears resemblance to a werewolf emerging from the surrounding forest. The episode concludes with the intimidating creature turning its head towards the nobles.

Although Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian are absent from this ending segment, it is certain that their involvement will be crucial in this case.

Fans are currently questioning the meaning behind the enigmatic conclusion of Black Butler’s fourth season. It is noteworthy that the final scene was based on chapter 86 of Yana Toboso’s manga, hinting at the start of the Emerald Witch Arc, which will be the next storyline following the Public School Arc.

Based on the manga, the focus of this arc is on Ciel Phantomhive, Sebastian Michaelis, and the Phantomhive servants as they delve into a string of puzzling deaths in Germany.

Ciel receives a letter from Queen Victoria, in which her Majesty informs him of a series of peculiar deaths in Southern Germany. The victims were reported to have undergone a sudden and grotesque transformation before ultimately succumbing to death.

Despite his reluctance, Ciel sets out on the Queen’s mission and arrives at a village. While there, he learns from the villagers that the cause of death for the victims was attributed to “the witch’s curse.”

Ultimately, Ciel Phantomhive crosses paths with Sieglinde Sullivan and her loyal butler, Wolfram, both of whom play pivotal roles in the arc. Throughout the arc, the focus remains on Ciel and Sebastian as they navigate through the perplexing case and uncover startling revelations in the process.

The main question remains: will the Emerald Witch Arc be turned into an anime in the near future? Currently, the creators of the show have not given the green light for a sequel. However, the mysterious conclusion of season 4 of Black Butler has certainly left fans wondering about the possibility.
