Explanation of the post-credits scene in Road House

The streaming of Road House began today, so be sure to read our 4-star review of the film. This 2024 remake of the cult classic from 1989, which featured Patrick Swayze as a bouncer with a philosophical side and a penchant for ripping out throats, now stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the doorman, known as Elwood Dalton.

Despite Conor McGregor making his acting debut as a killer named Knox in the new movie, it is he who has been garnering all the attention and media coverage.

Without any additional delay, here are the details of the post-credits scene in Road House and its potential implications for a sequel. Warning: spoilers ahead…

Does Road House have any sequels or spin-offs?

Although Road House does not feature a post-credits scene, it does have a mid-credits scene.

The film concludes with a predictably bloody finale, featuring a monumental movie fight. As the credits roll, viewers are treated to shots from the film’s most memorable scenes, accompanied by the names of the main cast and crew. A mid-credit scene follows before the full credits are shown.

The Road House post-credits scene

At the conclusion of Road House, Dalton uses massive wooden splinters to turn Knox into a human pin cushion, appearing to have killed the unstable enforcer. However, in the mid-credits scene of the film, Knox, portrayed by Conor McGregor, makes a return.

The scene commences with a gory face and hand smashing against a hospital door. As the camera zooms out, we witness more bodies being flung through the glass, revealing the chaos inside the hospital where nurses and doctors are being thrown about.

As someone shouts “Stop that man!”, Knox comes limping through the doors and past the camera, wearing a hospital gown.

Similarly to the beginning of the film, Knox can be seen walking confidently through reception and onto the street, with his bare bottom on display. This signifies that the character will continue to survive and potentially face Dalton in a future rematch, should Road House 2 receive the green light.
