Exploring the Strength of Upper Moon Six Gyutaro in Demon Slayer: Tengen Uzui’s Final Adversary

Gyutaro from Demon Slayer is recognized as one of the most formidable Upper Moon Demons and served as the final adversary to Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira who faced him prior to his retirement. Tragically, Gyutaro met his demise after engaging in battle with the Sound Hashira, and there were several factors contributing to his defeat, the primary one being his sister, Daki, who repeatedly distracted him with demands for protection.

Gyutaro shared the title of Upper Moon Six demon with his sister, but he was likely the more deserving of the two due to his exceptional battle intelligence and combat abilities, particularly his Blood Demon Art: Blood Manipulation. Furthermore, his demonic physique enabled him to produce toxic substances, giving him a significant advantage in combat situations.

Gyutaro was introduced in the second season of Demon Slayer during the Entertainment District Arc, when Tengen Uzui beheaded Daki. Following this, Gyutaro emerged from Daki’s back and swiftly overpowered the Sound Hashira. As siblings, they both held the title of Upper Moon Six among the Twelve Kizuki Demons.

As one of the Twelve Kizuki in Demon Slayer, Gyutaro’s physical attributes were extraordinary, setting him apart from any ordinary human or lower-ranked demon, making him a formidable target for slashing attacks. Additionally, his battle intelligence was remarkable; he utilized all available information gathered during his time within Daki, solidifying his status as one of the strongest demons in the series.

Being a demon also granted him standard abilities such as extraordinary regenerative capabilities and incredible speed. A particularly unique skill Gyutaro possessed was Core Detachment, which enabled him to attach one of his eyes to Daki, enhancing his battlefield awareness in a manner reminiscent of the Six Paths of Pain from Naruto.

Moreover, Gyutaro could produce a deadly poison that could incapacitate a person in mere minutes, affecting even the Sound Hashira and Inosuke, both of whom had natural resistance to toxins.

Arguably the pinnacle of his powers was his Blood Demon Art: Blood Manipulation. As the name suggests, this ability allowed Gyutaro to solidify his blood, crafting weapons and attacks—an ability he routinely utilized against the Sound Hashira. His primary weapon, the flesh kama, was created through his Blood Demon Art.

Among all his blood demon art techniques, “Rotating Circular Slashes: Flying Blood Sickles” was the deadliest. This technique unleashed multiple slashes of blood at Gyutaro’s opponent, effectively covering nearly all blind spots for a precise strike. Ultimately, during a final flurry of attacks, Tanjiro succeeded in beheading Gyutaro, leading to his downfall.

Throughout the fierce confrontation, Gyutaro’s primary objective was to keep his sister, Daki, safe from harm, necessitating that he frequently switch opponents to offer her assistance and prevent her from being killed. Regrettably, they were both beheaded simultaneously, leaving Gyutaro unable to rescue her.

However, had Gyutaro been the sole Upper Moon Six demon, devoid of the obligation to protect anyone else, he likely would have unleashed his full power against Tengen Uzui. This could have ultimately led to a victory for Gyutaro, potentially spelling doom for Tanjiro’s group.
