Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269 is scheduled for release on September 16, 2024. However, spoilers for this chapter have already surfaced, suggesting that with Yuta Okkotsu’s recovery, the series may be leaning towards a positive conclusion.
With the battle against Sukuna concluded, the question arises: who will be recognized as the MVP of the final fight? While Ui Ui has asserted his claim for the title, it may very well belong to Yuta, who has faced criticism throughout the journey.
Beginning his path as a novice among gifted sorcerers, the special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu climbed the ranks to become one of the most powerful sorcerers, supported by formidable allies like Gojo Satoru. His dedication and sacrifice during the climactic battle against Ryomen Sukuna undeniably position him as the MVP of the series.

Yuta Okkotsu: A Strong Contender for MVP in Jujutsu Kaisen
Yuta Okkotsu first appears as a central character in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie/volume 0, identified as a special-grade sorcerer burdened with a curse. This curse originated from his childhood friend, Rika, who passed away in an accident just after they had promised to marry. Consequently, he was perpetually haunted by her curse, dubbed the Queen of Curses.
After reconciling their feelings by the end of the movie/volume, Rika transformed into Yuta’s cursed technique, enabling him to replicate the cursed techniques of others. However, prior to rejoining Jujutsu Tech, he trained in his homeland with Miguel to master the manipulation of cursed energy.
Yuta made his return during the Itadori Extermination arc, where he was misled by the higher-ups into believing Itadori was responsible for injuring Inumaki’s hand (in reality, it was Sukuna). Following a fierce confrontation, Yuta almost killed Itadori but regained his composure just in time.
Thereafter, Yuta’s true role in the series began to unfold as he actively contributed to various events. Throughout the Culling Game arc, he faced formidable cursed spirits from the past, playing a vital role in the ultimate confrontation against Ryomen Sukuna, particularly in the intense battle featuring Yuta, Ryu, and Uru.
Despite facing a 2vs1 scenario against Yuta Okkotsu, he stood resilient and ultimately triumphed in the battle. Following this victory, Yuta engaged Kenjaku while he was distracted by Takaba, employing Aoi’s Boogie Woogie cursed technique. Fortunately, Kenjaku was defeated, but not before unleashing his cursed spirits and transferring command to Megumi (Sukuna).
After dealing with Kenjaku, Yuta entered the fight against Sukuna, showcasing his Domain Expansion: Authentic Mutual Love. This technique flooded the battlefield with swords, each imbued with a cursed technique that Yuta had previously copied.
Still, even this impressive display was insufficient to surpass the King of Curses, as Yuta was ultimately sliced in half by Sukuna’s devastating attack (the same one that resulted in Gojo’s demise). Yet, this was not the end for the special-grade sorcerer; he returned to the fray, utilizing Kenjaku’s cursed technique in the manner of Gojo Satoru.
This time, he challenged the King of Curses fiercely and inflicted significant damage, allowing Yuji and Nobara to strike the final blow, while Megumi managed to extract the antagonist from his host.
In the spoilers for chapter 269, Ui Ui claims he is the MVP of the final fight. While this could be justified given that his soul-exchange cursed technique was pivotal in instructing Yuta and Yuji in cursed techniques swiftly, when considering the MVP of the entire series, Yuta Okkotsu rightfully claims that title due to his relentless efforts and sacrifices.
