The second episode of the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest anime was released globally on July 14, 2024. It follows Natsu and his companions as they embark on an underwater journey in Ermina, a harbor town located in Guiltina. Their quest, assigned to them by Elefseria, leads them to Ermina in search of the Water Dragon God, Mercphobia, who must be sealed. The team faces unexpected obstacles and formidable adversaries along the way.
Mercphobia is among the Five Dragon Gods residing in Guiltina. According to Elefseria, the Five Dragon Gods possess comparable strength to Acnologia. The second episode of the anime also introduces a new guild, Diabolos, whose members are believed to have acquired their Dragon Slaying abilities by consuming dragons.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest: Natsu and Team Search for the Water Dragon God in Ermina (Episode 2)
Upon their arrival at Hotel Journey in Ermina Town, Team Natsu is greeted by the manager, Kashima, a humanoid fish with the ability to transform into a human. In preparation for their date, Kashima directs the group to consume the drinks provided in their rooms, cautioning that failure to do so may jeopardize their survival.
Upon waking, Gray discovers that the hotel has been submerged in the ocean. However, Kashima quickly reassures them that this is a daily occurrence as the town sinks during high tide. Thanks to the drink they had earlier, they are able to breathe underwater and their swimming skills have been enhanced. As they explore the underwater world, Erza even challenges a shark named Sharkina to a competition.
The group’s enjoyment is cut short when Gray inquires about Mercphobia to Kashima, leading the previously docile fish to become hostile and pledge allegiance to the Water Dragon. In order to avoid a potential confrontation, the group quickly retreats as Mercphobia’s followers give chase.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 2: Gajeel, Juvia, and Lily discover a peculiar detail about Touka
At the same time, in Magnolia, Touka displays her Water Magic skills, much to Juvia’s distaste. They investigate further and catch a glimpse of a striped tail beneath Touka’s dress, although it vanishes before they can fully confirm their suspicions. Lily witnesses this, but Levy remains doubtful.
As Jellal arrives at the Sabertooth guild, Sorano praises Yukino. He then announces that he is on a search for Touka and requests that the guild members inform him if they come across her while also advising them to refrain from interacting with her.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest: Diabolos, the Dragon-Hunting Guild
Upon returning to Ermina, Natsu and his companions take refuge in an alley, bewildered by the sudden shift in the fish’s behavior. Lucy proposes a more peaceful strategy for handling the dragons, persuading the group to utilize Gemini’s abilities to transform into fish. Unfortunately, Lucy’s depleted magical reserves cause Wendy to transform into a jellyfish. As they begin to investigate, Gray confronts Kashima, who discloses that the humans searching for Mercphobia will be offered as sacrifices to the Water God.
As Natsu, Lucy, and Happy come across a woman with a strange guild emblem imprisoned in a cell, she cautions them to keep their distance as the Water Dragon approaches. After breaking out of her chains, she uses her Dragon Slayer abilities to defeat the sea monster, only to discover that it is not the real Water Dragon.
Kiria, a member of Diabolos, a guild of fifth-generation Dragon Slayers who gain power by consuming dragons, introduces herself as a Dragon Eater to Natsu. She attacks him, recognizing his Dragon Slayer scent. Despite Lucy’s attempts to fight back underwater, Kiria proves to be too powerful.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Episode 2: The Addition of Mercphobia to the Battle Between Fairy Tail and Diabolos
After arriving, Gray quickly incapacitates Kiria, leaving Kashima in shock over his deceit. Kiria discloses that the dragon she had initially battled was simply a messenger, and warns that the real Water Dragon may come after her for her actions. Erza, Wendy, and Carla join in the fight, but Madmole, Kiria’s guildmate, intercepts Erza and uses Armor Dragon Slayer Magic to defend against her attack.
Despite Madmole’s plea for Kiria to rejoin the guild, she stubbornly refuses, determined to wait for Mercphobia. As the Water Dragon descends, the ocean parts in two and he expresses his irritation at the interruption, catching Natsu’s attention with his humanoid form.
