Several Instagram Stories posts have exposed the use of AI by fake Corinna Kopf accounts to deceive fans into believing that she is getting married to them.
Ever since AI became prominent in 2023, there has been a surge in deepfake profiles impersonating popular figures on the internet, leading to their infiltration into the direct messages of fans.
Corinna Kopf, who has been impersonated, expressed her frustration with the situation through a series of Instagram stories.
Corinna’s initial post included a quote from an individual who stated they had deleted their Telegram account and had no intention of repaying them.
She responded, stating that she receives a concerning number of messages like this every day. She clarified that she will only message from this account and that any messages from other platforms, such as Telegram, Whatsapp, email, or phone number, are not from her.
“Please only use this account to avoid being scammed.”
Upon reading that post, another user commented that they had come across a Reddit post by an individual who believes they are engaged to Corinna. “They shared an AI video that was sent to them of you expressing your love for them,”the commenter stated.
Corinna shared the video on her stories, with the caption “A Masterpiece.”
“I am uncomfortable with the way you are ignoring me online. As I have previously mentioned, I am the genuine Corinna Kopf and I have genuine feelings for you. I have explained that I lost my purse, which contained all my personal information, and you have not acknowledged it. Please trust that we will reunite in person soon, as promised.”
Once again, a popular figure has been exploited to deceive innocent supporters. In March, a deceptive AI video featuring Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau caused an individual to allegedly lose $12K.
