Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update: Performance Improved, Graphics Disappointing

The long-awaited next-gen update for Fallout 4 has been released on PlayStation and Xbox, promising enhanced graphics. However, fans have observed that the game’s appearance remains largely unchanged.

On April 24, Bethesda released a major update for Fallout 4 on all platforms. This update aimed to improve the game’s stability, increase resolution, and achieve a 60 FPS gameplay experience. However, the enhancements for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are minimal, with only slight improvements in FPS and hardly any noticeable graphical upgrades.

Following the update, players compared the graphics of the Series X and PS5 before and after, and the side-by-side comparisons revealed minimal differences between them. This discovery has made the highly anticipated update somewhat disappointing.

GameXplain, a popular YouTuber, recently released a video showcasing the distinctions among the PlayStation 4 Pro, PS5 Performance mode, and PS5 quality mode. The last two modes were recently added in the Fallout 4 patch.

Despite the lack of noticeable graphical improvements, fans of the franchise were still thrilled with the overall performance updates that came with the next-gen update. This excitement was further demonstrated through videos showcasing the smoother gameplay experience achieved through FPS enhancements.

One player on Twitter/X expressed their excitement for the Fallout 4 next-gen patch, stating that their initial impressions were extremely positive. They were impressed with the improved graphics and smooth gameplay, and are eagerly anticipating fully immersing themselves in the game.

Despite the increase in player count due to the release of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series, fans of the Fallout franchise have praised Bethesda for their next-gen update to Fallout 4. However, older titles like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas have not received the same treatment.
