Famous Child Dancer Reportedly Leaves SM Entertainment

According to reports, Na Haeun, known for her exceptional dancing skills as a child, has departed from SM Entertainment.

As reported exclusively by Xports News on July 1, Na Haeun, formerly a trainee at SM Entertainment (referred to as SM hereafter), has made the decision to end her trainee journey and depart from the company.

Na Haeun, a child dancer and popular content creator, rose to fame as a dance prodigy in 2009. She has made appearances on multiple local TV shows since a young age and has a successful YouTube channel called “Awesome Haeun,”with over 5 million subscribers. Her talent has also been recognized at the Melon Music Awards (MMA) in 2017, 2018, and 2019, where she has performed. One of her notable performances was a viral rendition of Red Velvet’s “Peek-a-Boo”at the 2017 MMAs.

In 2022, it was revealed that she had signed an exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and was getting ready to make her debut in their upcoming girl group. As speculation grew about Na Haeun potentially joining an SM Entertainment girl group, K-pop fans eagerly anticipated her official debut as an idol. There was even more excitement surrounding her debut as SM Entertainment had plans to introduce a new girl group in the latter half of the year, amplifying expectations for Na Haeun’s debut.

Despite spending two years as a trainee at SM Entertainment, Na Haeun has decided to leave the company. As a result, she will not be joining the upcoming girl group, aespa, under SM Entertainment.

At the upcoming Doosan Bears vs. Kiwoom Heroes baseball game on July 3, Na Haeun will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Despite being 15 years old internationally, she has been chosen for this special honor.

Before joining SM Entertainment, Na Haeun had already made numerous public appearances. She was seen in Block B’s music video for “Shall We Dance”and also performed as a back-up dancer for Red Velvet’s “Zimzalabim”during the “‘Zimzalabim’ Mass Performance | ZIP.CODE: SEOUL”event. Additionally, she has collaborated with various K-pop groups, including PENTAGON, ONEUS, and ENOi.

Despite making her solo debut with the single album “So Special”at the young age of nine on January 26, 2018, Na Haeun’s future in the music industry remains uncertain as she has recently parted ways with SM Entertainment. It is unclear if she will join a new agency and potentially debut in a girl group in the future.
