Despite the abundance of new titles and updates, being a fighting game fan remains as exciting as ever. However, the classics never lose their appeal, and the upcoming release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will bring back eight beloved titles for fans to enjoy once again.
The previous Capcom Fighting Collection, which was released in 2022, heavily emphasized Darkstalkers. However, the forthcoming sequel has a more even distribution of titles. The collection will include eight games, namely:

- Power Stone,
- Power Stone 2,
- Project Justice,
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper,
- Capcom Fighting Evolution,
- Additionally, there is also a Plasma Sword available.
Following the recent release date announcement trailer for Street Fighter 6, which also featured gameplay of Terry Bogard, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will now feature the highly popular first and second titles of Capcom vs. SNK. Additionally, Street Fighter Alpha 3, known for its traditional and beloved Street Fighter gameplay, will also be included in the collection. It is worth noting that this version is the Upper edition, previously only available in Japan. In addition to the individual balancing of each game, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will also offer EX Settings that give players the ability to further personalize each title. These settings include the option to enable or disable secret characters and to allow or restrict mirror matches. The collection also boasts exclusive features such as a useful training mode with character hitbox displays, the ability to quickly save during gameplay, visual filters that mimic CRT TV screens, a music player, and a vast art gallery showcasing official art, concept art, and design documents.
Each game in the collection offers the option to play online, including ranked and casual matches, and even allows for executing one-button special moves like those in Street Fighter 6’s Modern Controls. This feature is particularly impressive, and makes the game accessible to both “classically trained”and “modern warrior”players. Whether on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Steam, anyone can jump into Capcom Fighting Collection 2. The only thing to note is that the game is currently set for release in 2025. However, fans can still enjoy Terry in Street Fighter 6 on September 24, or they can pick up the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection on September 12 while they wait.
